Job DescriptionMarket General Manager Lead One of Colorado’s Most Established Marketplace Destinations Colorado Springs Flea Market is seeking an experienced, hands-on, and results-driven Market General Manager to lead the overall success of one of the region’s most recognizable marketplace and entertainment destinations. This leadership role oversees a dynamic operation that combines retail, food and beverage, entertainment, events, facilities management, vendor relations, and community engagement. The General Manager is accountable for driving revenue, profitability, operational excellence, and an exceptional experience for sellers, guests, and team members. The ideal candidate is a visible and approachable leader who enjoys developing people, improving operations, building relationships, and turning business goals into measurable results. Candidates with leadership experience in retail centers, shopping centers, hospitality, entertainment venues, event facilities, flea markets, fairgrounds, attractions, property management, or multi-unit operations are strongly encouraged to apply. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness and Financial Performance • Develop and execute strategies to increase attendance, vendor occupancy, food and beverage sales, sponsorships, events, and overall profitability., • Assist with annual budgeting and monitor revenue, expenses, labor, operating results, and key performance indicators., • Analyze financial reports and business trends, identify opportunities, and implement corrective action when needed., • Protect company assets and promote efficient, financially responsible operations.Team Leadership, • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing leaders and team members., • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability., • Build a positive, service-focused culture centered on teamwork, safety, professionalism, and operational excellence., • Lead by example while promoting integrity, respect, and sound decision-making.Vendor Relations and Market Growth, • Build strong relationships with current and prospective sellers., • Lead efforts to increase occupancy, maximize available space, and support seller success., • Resolve concerns promptly and maintain open, professional communication., • Partner with sellers on promotions, events, and business-growth initiatives.Operations, Facilities, and Food & Beverage, • Oversee food and beverage operations, facilities, grounds, parking areas, and customer-facing spaces., • Ensure the market remains safe, clean, organized, well maintained, and ready for operation., • Monitor food and beverage quality, sales, labor, inventory, expenses, and regulatory compliance., • Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, property improvements, and capital projects., • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable health, safety, and operational requirements.Guest Experience, Marketing, and Community Engagement, • Create a welcoming, service-first experience for guests, sellers, and employees., • Address concerns with urgency, fairness, and professionalism., • Partner with Marketing on campaigns, promotions, entertainment, and special events that increase attendance and revenue., • Develop relationships with local businesses, community organizations, schools, and civic leaders., • Serve as a visible ambassador for Colorado Springs Flea Market and United Flea Markets.Organizational Leadership, • Maintain regular communication with company leadership and corporate support teams., • Use operational data and feedback to develop action plans and improve performance., • Collaborate across departments to promote consistency, accountability, and organizational alignment., • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.Required Qualifications, • At least eight years of progressive leadership experience in retail, hospitality, entertainment, business operations, property management, event management, or another customer-focused industry., • Demonstrated success managing teams, budgets, operational performance, and customer-service initiatives., • Experience leading a large-scale, public-facing operation., • Ability to understand and analyze budgets, income statements, balance sheets, sales reports, and operating metrics., • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills., • Ability to manage competing priorities with ownership, accountability, and urgency., • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint., • Valid driver’s license., • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening., • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and special events.Preferred Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Hospitality, Operations Management, or a related field., • Experience managing vendor-, seller-, or tenant-based business environments., • Experience overseeing food and beverage operations, facilities, grounds, and capital projects., • Experience planning large-scale events, promotions, and community programs., • Experience with business development, sponsorships, and community partnerships., • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.Physical and Work Requirements, • Ability to walk and inspect a large property regularly., • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions., • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds., • Ability to maintain a visible leadership presence during busy market days, events, and operational needs.Benefits & Total Rewards United Flea Markets offers a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support the health, financial well-being, flexibility, and continued development of our leaders.
