The Role We are seeking an experienced QSEC Manager to take overall responsibility for Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance frameworks within a regulated engineering environment. This is a senior and influential position, with responsibility for ensuring legal, regulatory, and industry compliance while developing a strong culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. You will own and maintain the organisation's Integrated Management System (IMS) and act as a key point of contact for audits, regulators, accreditation bodies, and other external stakeholders. You will also provide technical, regulatory, and compliance guidance to operational and commercial teams. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality, Health & Safety, Environmental & Compliance • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and management systems covering Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance requirements., • Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation, industry regulations, technical standards, and internal requirements., • Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001., • Monitor changes to legislation, regulations, and industry standards and ensure these are implemented effectively across the organisation., • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.Health & Safety Management, • Lead and develop the Health & Safety strategy across the business., • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act and associated legislation., • Oversee risk assessments, RAMS, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work., • Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, including RIDDOR reporting where required., • Monitor corrective and preventative actions to ensure effective close-out., • Promote a positive safety culture through training, toolbox talks, communications, and employee engagement.Audits, Governance & Reporting, • Plan and lead internal audits, management reviews, and external certification audits., • Act as a key contact for regulators, auditors, insurers, accreditation bodies, and other relevant external organisations., • Maintain appropriate compliance and audit records., • Produce regular Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance reports for senior management., • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and make appropriate recommendations.Data Protection, Document Control & Security, • Act as the organisation's GDPR and data protection lead, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation., • Oversee document control, records management, and information security processes., • Maintain appropriate systems and controls to protect company information and records., • Support the management of physical and operational security arrangements across relevant sites., • Assist with investigations relating to security incidents where required.Technical & Regulatory Support Provide technical and regulatory guidance to operational, engineering, and commercial teams, including: • Supporting applications and derogations relating to technical installation requirements., • Interpreting relevant technical standards, regulations, and specifications., • Reviewing test sheets, inspection records, and technical documentation., • Supporting the preparation and completion of Declarations of Conformity., • Providing guidance on fire-stopping and associated compliance requirements., • Preparing and managing documentation required by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR)., • Advising internal stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters affecting projects and installations.Skills & Experience The successful candidate will ideally have: • Proven experience in a QSEC, HSEQ, SHEQ, or Compliance leadership role., • Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing, building services, or another regulated technical environment., • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements., • Good knowledge of ISO management systems, particularly ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001., • Experience managing internal and external audits, certification processes, and regulatory inspections., • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence people at all levels., • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills., • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.Qualifications Essential / Strongly Preferred: • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent., • ISO Lead Auditor qualification covering one or more of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, or equivalent experience., • GDPR / Data Protection training or certification would be advantageous.What's on Offer, • Competitive salary, dependent on experience., • 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays., • Professional development and career progression opportunities., • A senior role with significant ownership and influence across Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance functions., • The opportunity to shape policies, standards, and organisational culture., • Exposure to complex and highly regulated engineering environments., • Supportive leadership and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
