We are actively seeking an experienced SENCo to commence in January 2026, 3 days per week on-going/long term. This position will be based in a primary school which is part of a Multi Academy Trust in Nottingham. For this role of SENCo you will be working closely with the Head Teacher to develop and oversee the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy and provision. You will be co-ordinateing the day to day support for students with SEN or disabilities. Within this role you may have to advise and train colleagues on effective SEN teaching strategies if required and work closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and local authorities to ensure continuity of support. The SENCo will maintain a strategic overview of SEN provision across the school and ensure SEN policy objectives are reflected in the School Improvement Plan. There will also be a requirement to monitor and review the quality of SEN provision and evaluate funding effectiveness. You will maintain an accurate SEND register and provision map and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). There could be a requirement to support identification of effective teaching approaches for puils with SEN and lead intervention groups and monitor their impact, advising teachers on differentiation of behaviour management strategies. In this role of SENCo you will act as the key point of contact for external agencies educational psychologists, and other health professionals.
