The PEP team works closely with the investment teams at Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners across the US, UK and Australian energy markets. PEP was established to provide Quinbrook with enhanced capability in project origination, development, asset management and revenue optimisation. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and outgoing Grid Connections Manager to join our growing team. This is a pivotal role focused on identifying, assessing and securing grid capacity and managing grid milestones in line with the connection agreement obligations to enable the successful delivery of our UK renewable energy pipeline. You will bring deep technical understanding of the UK electricity grid, a strong analytical mindset, a good network into grid companies and a passion for enabling the transition to clean energy. Working closely with development, construction and asset management teams, you will play a key role in shaping grid strategy and driving project success from origination through to delivery of the grid connections. Key Responsibilities • Grid Identification & Strategy – Proactively identify, analyse, and secure grid connection opportunities across transmission and distribution networks., • Project Development Support – Work alongside project developers to integrate grid strategy within project origination, site selection, and feasibility assessments., • Grid Connection Applications – Lead on ENA applications, connection offer reviews, negotiation and management of connection agreements with DNOs, IDNOs, and National Grid ESO., • Technical Analysis – Manage grid studies, including capacity analysis, constraint evaluation, and network reinforcement assessments., • Stakeholder Management – Maintain strong relationships with network operators, NGET, DNOs, iDNOs, consultants, and key industry stakeholders., • Regulatory & Market Insight – Monitor grid policy developments (e.g. Ofgem, National Grid ESO), advise the team on emerging risks and opportunities and engage in industry forums, • Cross-Technology Expertise – Apply grid expertise across Solar PV, Onshore Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Grid Stability (synchronous condenser or similar) projects., • Data & Systems – Utilise grid analytics tools, GIS, and network data sources to identify and prioritise new project opportunities., • Value engineering – Apply supply chain knowledge and innovation in to reduce costs and timescales and optimise project economics., • Grid Code Compliance – Maintain grid code compliance in line with the obligations of the connection agreements including meeting financial, technical and regulatory requirements, • Relationships – Build credible relationships with grid companies, regulatory bodies and influence regulatory change. Qualifications & Experience • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related discipline., • 5-8+ years’ experience in grid connections within the UK electricity sector, • Technical and Regulatory knowledge of grid connection processes, network planning, and grid capacity assessments., • Proven track record of identifying, securing, and managing grid connections for renewable, energy storage and grid support projects., • Strong analytical and numerical skills – comfortable interpreting complex technical data and producing clear recommendations., • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented approach., • Commercial awareness – understanding of how grid costs and timelines impact project viability. Good knowledge of grid infrastructure costs and the supply chain with an ability to innovate to reduce both capital and operational costs., • Markets: Understanding of electricity generation, grid stability and ancillary services markets., • Collaborative mindset – ability to work closely with development, construction and asset management teams as well as with the gird companies, system operators, iDNOs and other stakeholders, • Passion for renewables and innovation, with a drive to deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
