Health & Safety Advisor Location: Plymouth Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 Type: Permanent, Full-Time About the Role We are working with a well-established organisation within the construction and operational sector to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident safety professional who is passionate about driving a positive health & safety culture across live construction, refurbishment, and operational environments. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in promoting best practice, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across all aspects of HSE performance. Key Responsibilities • Provide expert health & safety guidance across construction, refurbishment, and operational activities, • Act as a visible safety leader, promoting a proactive and positive H&S culture on site, • Strong focus on CDM Regulations 2015 compliance and best practice, • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective actions, • Deliver and coordinate inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing H&S training, • Support contractor management, including onboarding, audits, and performance monitoring, • ISO 45001, • Review and approve RAMS, safe systems of work, and permits, • Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, • Maintain and improve Health & Safety Management Systems, • Monitor, analyse, and report on HSE performance and trends, • Liaise with external bodies, including the HSE, during inspections and audits About You • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety (essential), • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, heavy industry, or processing environments, • Strong understanding of ISO 45001 (and ISO 14001 desirable), • Experience conducting incident investigations using methods such as Root Cause Analysis or ICAM, • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and H&S management systems, • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential), • Environmental qualifications What’s on Offer • Salary £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE), • Permanent, stable position, • Opportunity to work across varied construction and operational environments, • Strong focus on professional development and continuous improvement, • Supportive senior H&S leadership team Our Commitment to Inclusion As a recruitment agency, we are committed to promoting inclusive opportunities on behalf of our clients.
