\n GCP BigQuery Architect \n Title: GCP BigQuery Architect \n Location: Bristol - 2 days onsite per week \n Duration: 6 - 12 Months Rolling Contract \n Budget: £450 per day, all inclusive \n Inside IR35 \n We are looking for an experienced GCP BigQuery Architect to design and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud. \n The role will focus on BigQuery, cloud migration, data warehousing and modern data engineering, working closely with business and technical stakeholders. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Design scalable, secure and high-performance GCP/BigQuery data architectures\n, • Lead migration of Legacy data warehouses and ETL workloads to GCP\n, • Define end-to-end architecture across ingestion, transformation, storage, governance and reporting\n, • Design and optimise BigQuery schemas, partitioning, clustering, performance and cost\n, • Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews and stakeholder guidance\n, • Support CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and cloud governance best practices\n\n Mandatory \n\n • 10+ years' IT experience, including 5+ years in GCP data engineering/architecture\n, • Strong BigQuery architecture, optimisation and administration\n, • Hands-on experience with Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions and Cloud Run\n, • Strong SQL, data modelling and data warehousing\n, • Proven experience migrating Legacy/on-premise platforms to GCP\n, • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, Git and DevOps\n, • Good understanding of IAM, security, networking and cloud governance\n, • Experience integrating Looker, Tableau or Power BI with BigQuery\n, • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills\n\n Bonus \n\n • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification\n, • Experience with Dataplex, Data Catalog or Vertex AI\n, • Experience within large-scale enterprise transformation programmes\n
