Planner (Civils) Belfast (with UK-wide travel) Civil Engineering Division Competitive Salary + Package A leading Civil Engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Planner to join their Belfast-based team, supporting the delivery of a wide range of civils projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner with a strong civil engineering background, ideally with rail or marine experience, to play a key role across both live projects and pre-construction activities. The Role Based in Belfast, you will act as a key point of contact for all planning-related activities, supporting project teams across multiple schemes. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle — from tender and pre-construction through to live project delivery — ensuring robust, accurate, and achievable programmes are in place. Key Responsibilities • Act as the main point of contact for planning input on live civils projects, • Provide pre-construction planning support alongside the wider team, • Produce and manage detailed project programmes, including:, • Critical Path Analysis (CPA), • Resourcing and cost loading, • S-curves and Earned Value Management (EVM), • Develop pre-construction programmes incorporating design and procurement elements, • Monitor and update live programmes, producing regular progress reports, • Ensure programmes are aligned with project requirements and delivery strategy, • Work across a range of contract types including NEC and ICE, • Use industry-standard software including Powerproject, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project, • Travel to sites across the UK to support project delivery where required About You Qualifications: • Degree or higher-level qualification in a relevant field Experience: • Proven experience in a Planner or similar role within civil engineering, • Experience delivering infrastructure projects (rail, marine, or similar preferred), • Strong working knowledge of Powerproject, P6, and Microsoft Project, • Understanding of planning requirements across NEC, ICE, and JCT contracts, • Experience across various civil engineering sectors such as infrastructure, marine, energy, or geotechnical works, • Familiar with different procurement routes and planning methodologies Desirable: • Experience in claims, delay analysis, or forensic planning What’s on Offer • Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects, • Strong pipeline of secured work across the UK, • Career progression within a well-established contractor, • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
