Level: Assistant to Associate Transport Planner – Development Planning Location: Cambridge, UK Department: Transport Planning / Development Planning Role Overvie wWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Transport Planner to support our Development Planning team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of transport assessments, travel plans, and supporting technical documents for a wide range of residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments .Working closely with Associate and Senior Transport Planners, you will contribute to the delivery of transport planning projects from initial feasibility through to planning application and post-consent stages. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills, gain exposure to the planning process, and build a career in transport and development planning . Key Responsibiliti • esAssist in the preparation of Transport Assessments (TAs), Transport Statements (TSs), Travel Plans, and other supporting planning document, • s.Collect, analyse, and interpret transport, traffic, and accessibility dat, • a.Undertake site visits and assess local transport conditions, infrastructure, and accessibilit, • y.Support the preparation of planning application submissions and technical report, • s.Use transport planning software and spreadsheets to undertake data analysis and forecastin, • g.Assist with junction capacity assessments and traffic impact studie, • s.Prepare plans, figures, and presentation materials for reports and client meeting, • s.Liaise with clients, local authorities, developers, architects, and other project stakeholders under supervisio, • n.Research local and national transport planning policies and guidanc, • e.Support senior team members in project management, programme monitoring, and report productio, • n.Maintain accurate project records and contribute to quality assurance procedure s. Skills and Experie nce Essen • tialDegree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipl, • ine.Strong written and verbal communication ski, • lls.Good analytical and problem-solving abilit, • ies.Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPo, • int.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary t, • eam.Strong attention to detail and organisational ski lls.
