Olivian House is a forward-thinking and values-driven organisation dedicated to providing exceptional, therapeutic residential care for children and young people aged 1017 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and mild learning disabilities (LD). We are looking for caring, resilient, and motivated Residential Care Workers to join our team in our three-bedded childrens residential home. With clear pathways for career progression, you will be given the opportunity to progress to Senior Residential Care Worker, subject to performance, alongside additional incentives. About the Role As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people to feel safe, valued, and empowered. You will work as part of a dedicated team, providing care, guidance, and positive role modelling while helping young people to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans. Build nurturing and trusting relationships that encourage positive development, resilience, and independence. Support children with their education, personal development, hobbies, and community engagement. Lead by example as a positive role model, promoting healthy routines, structure, and consistent boundaries. Encourage children to achieve their goals, celebrating their successes and helping them through challenges. Contribute to safeguarding and ensure childrens safety and well-being at all times. Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, local authorities, and external professionals. Accurately maintain records, daily logs, and incident reports in line with regulatory standards. Actively contribute to creating a safe, therapeutic, and child-centred home environment What were looking for: Previous experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a residential care or social care setting. A compassionate and resilient approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people. Ability to work a rota pattern including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong teamwork abilities. A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this qualification fully funded by the organisation). Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development. IT and record-keeping skills. What We Offer Competitive salary: £27,500 £29,000 (dependent on experience).
