Job Description Job Title: Senior Facilities and Maintenance Technician / Weekend Lead Department: Facilities and Maintenance Reports To: Facilities and Maintenance Manager Indirect Report To: President Terms: Full-time, 40 hours a week, 4/10 AWS, Fri-Mon Summary: Production line, Senior Facility and Maintenance Technician/Lead with experience in automation controls and chemical handling equipment, will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and support equipment. This is a skilled technical role within the facility. This position generally interacts with personnel at equivalent levels within internal departments and external vendors and service providers, and it is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of production and facility equipment. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining automated control systems, chemical handling equipment, and facility infrastructure. The Senior Facility and Maintenance Technician/Lead collaborates closely with production and leadership to minimize downtime, enhance efficiency, and ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures. Purpose of Position The primary purpose of a Senior Facilities and Maintenance Technician/Lead position is to ensure the efficient and safe operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment, while also providing leadership and guidance to other maintenance staff and offering support to department managers. This role involves a combination of hands-on technical work and supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Assist and monitor daily start-up of all facilities and equipment., • Mentor, coach, train, and assist as needed, other Maintenance team members on projects., • Assist in training and record keeping of personnel., • Contact and manage vendors to arrange services as needed., • Research and request order spares and supplies as needed. Order, re-stock, and maintain the inventory of spare parts and consumables, • Maintain equipment spare parts inventory., • Review and update PMs and other maintenance procedures. Maintain records of breakdowns, repairs, and preventive maintenance., • Review current parts inventory with the goal of getting rid of obsolete/worthless items., • Identify and evaluate maintenance needs during the morning work period. · Maintaining daily facilities and manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance records. · Update the inventory logs. · Job duties include handling chemicals · Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned. Equipment Maintenance and Repair • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in production and facility equipment., • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production machinery, including disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of critical components., • Rebuild and repair diaphragm pumps, valves, and other chemical handling equipment., • Monitor equipment performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements., • Respond to and prioritize facility maintenance requests (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, etc.)., • Maintain and inspect chemical fume scrubbers, RO/DI water systems, and other facility support equipment (experience preferred but not required)., • Manage spare parts inventory, including researching and specifying ordering, restocking, and organizing critical components., • Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment modifications., • Work closely with Production and Engineering Departments to schedule maintenance around operational needs., • Coordinate and schedule services with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to coordinate repairs and upgrades., • 5 + years of experience in facilities, maintenance, and repair of production equipment, • Familiar with chemical handling equipment and parts, • Repair and rebuilding technical skills, • Knowledge of RO/DI systems, • Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management, • Have a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and in a team environment, • Intermediate proficiency in computer skills, specifically working with spreadsheets, • Strong attention to detail, • Advantage 1-3 years of leadership experience, • Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills (multimeters)., • Experience with PLC programming, VFDs, and motor controls (experience preferred but not required)., • Familiarity with chemical handling equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, etc.)., • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. (experience preferred but not required)., • Basic understanding of facility maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)., • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)., • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an advantage, • Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent (required)., • A trade school degree is preferred.
