Job Description This position will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with union agreements, and subcontractor compliance within the construction industry, and as needed assistance within the accounting team as far as AR/ AP entry. This role will be working as part of accounting team and in collaboration with external Payroll company, subcontractors, union representatives, and external regulatory agencies to ensure accurate payroll processing and adherence to labor laws and contract requirements. Key Responsibilities includes but not limited to: • Process weekly payroll through ADP, ensuring timely and accurate wage, overtime, benefits, workers comp and deductions in compliance with union agreements and regulations., • Verify ADP’s timely filing of payroll taxes (federal, state, and local)., • Process and report certified payroll and prevailing wage through DIR, LCP Tracker, and other required platforms., • Submit union reports monthly, ensuring correct union contributions (health, welfare, pension) are withheld and remitted to the appropriate funds and submitting amount due to AP ., • Ensure compliance with labor laws, including certified payroll reporting and maintaining union benefit records, • Handle insurances and Workers comp monthly reporting and payments and manage its renewals, • Coordinate with project managers and union reps for proper classification and compliance with union standards and prevailing wage requirements for each job., • Oversee subcontractor/vendors compliance with labor contracts, including prevailing wage and union standards; verify proper documentation (insurance, payroll reports, etc.)., • Enter and allocate labor costs accurately to each job provided by project manager., • Track,verify and enter AR/AP into the currently used accounting system, • Handle Any payroll, workers’ compensation, subcontractor, and union compliance audits., • Review union agreements, public works, and prevailing wage contracts for compliance, including apprenticeship program tracking., • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and subcontractor data., • Track employee records, including new hires, terminations, time off, and status changes., • Act as a liaison to resolve compliance issues with unions, contractors, or regulatory bodies., • Assist accounting department and controller with various tasks as needed., • Stay informed on labor law and tax regulation changes affecting payroll and the construction industry. Job Requirements • 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, accounting, and compliance, with an understanding of construction industry payroll practices, union agreements, and subcontractor compliance, • Knowledgeable with payroll software - ADP preferred, • Experience with CA DIR eCpr system, LCP Tracker, and other Labor Compliance reporting platforms. preferred, • Knowledge of public works contracting, union labor agreements, prevailing wage laws, and construction contract compliance. Familiarity with Human Resources processes and practices is preferred., • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail., • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
