Job Description Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer II - Assembly Job Description This role supports a mobile equipment assembly line at a large manufacturing facility, focusing on optimizing assembly operations and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while leading capital and process improvement projects. The position requires a hands-on engineer who can analyze and implement new manufacturing technologies, establish efficient assembly methods, and provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for production. Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost in assembly operations., • Lead and manage small to moderate scope capital projects, including planning, implementation, and follow-up to ensure successful project outcomes., • Establish, document, and maintain assembly line layouts, labor standards, and methods, including detailed sequences of events for assembly operations., • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and develop improved methods to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality., • Research, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies to support the assembly line., • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for current assembly operations to resolve issues quickly and minimize production downtime., • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives within assembly operations while maintaining or improving safety, quality, and ergonomics., • Develop and implement quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas for assembly operations in collaboration with production and safety teams., • Use engineering tools and manufacturing execution systems to monitor performance, analyze data, and drive process improvements., • Communicate effectively with operators, peers, and leadership to share project status, gather feedback, and ensure alignment on process changes., • Demonstrate strong personal accountability and follow-through on assigned tasks, projects, and improvement initiatives., • 3 or more years of experience with manufacturing processes, including assembly, quality, tooling, preventative maintenance, and facilities., • Experience using engineering tools to analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes., • Experience working with manufacturing execution systems to manage and track production activities., • Demonstrated experience leading and implementing projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with operators, peers, and leadership., • Ability to work self-motivated and execute tasks and projects with minimal supervision., • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology discipline, or equivalent related work experience., • Strong personal accountability and a track record of completing tasks and projects with thorough follow-through., • Ability to foster a positive, engaged team environment and collaborate effectively across functions., • Experience identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities in manufacturing operations., • Experience developing and implementing quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements in assembly environments. This position is based in a high-volume manufacturing facility supporting a mobile equipment assembly line. The role follows a 1st shift schedule, typically from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime opportunities of approximately 5 to 8 hours when requested. You will work closely with production teams on the shop floor, using engineering tools and manufacturing execution systems to monitor and improve processes. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement in assembly operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Davenport, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $47.00 - $47.00/hr.
