Job Description English Teacher, Upper School The English Department at Nightingale seeks an enthusiastic, dynamic and collegial English teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to teach in our Upper School division. Candidates will possess and communicate high standards for their subject matter and their students and show a commitment to the best practices of teaching through ongoing professional development. Nightingale is deeply committed to cultivating a community rooted in principals of belonging and inclusion, the foundations of excellent teaching and learning. We expect all community members to engage thoughtfully and responsibly in this work. Nightingale-Bamford’s English teachers collaborate to create curriculum and assessments, so candidates should be prepared to work as active members of grade-level teams. They should be skilled in conducting writing workshops as well as leading literature discussions. This is a full time, 10 month, exempt position starting on August 31, 2026. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): • Teach a full course load in the Upper School, • Demonstrate a commitment to understanding students, • Employ best practices of teaching English to provide our students with an excellent learning experience, • Participate in and contribute to the school community outside of the classroom, • Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field; Master’s or PhD preferred, • At least three to five years in teaching English at the middle school level, • A shared understanding of the mission of the school and a demonstrated commitment to the core principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, • Demonstrated cultural competence and an ability to understand, appreciate, and work with constituents across varied backgrounds and cultures, • Excellent attention to detail, a professional attitude, good judgment, a high level of integrity and a strong work ethic, • A supportive and compassionate approach to teaching, • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively, • Superb oral and written communication skills, • Initiative and a proven ability to work collaboratively In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000. We offer early childhood programs, summer day camps, after-school and other fun and engaging programs for families We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Afterschool Teacher to join our team on a consistent schedule. The Afterschool Teacher will support classroom activities, supervise students, and step in to lead when the lead teacher is unavailable. This role provides essential support to ensure smooth classroom operations, whether during transitions, long-term teacher absences, or in day-to-day classroom needs. Main Responsibilities * Prepare the classroom starting at 2:30pm for the children prior to the start of after school and on a daily basis. * Take photos throughout the week and send weekly emails to parents * Plan activities for the week ahead of time following the curriculum appropriate for ages 2-4. * Maintain a safe, clean and orderly classroom environment (including the area outside the room as well as cubbies and bulletin boards) in compliance with Department of Health standards. * Leave the classroom in good order each day. Materials should be put away, table surfaces cleaned with a weak bleach solution, and chairs stacked to allow the floors to be cleaned. * Provide positive guidance and must have strong classroom management skills. * Relate to children in a warm, respectful manner and set appropriate and reasonable limits and expectations. * React appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances (i.e falling child). * Be able to lift, carry and hold children, to stoop and bend to a child's level throughout the day. * Communicate with parents Qualifications * College credits in Early Childhood Education (at least 1 year) or Substitute certificate * Experience in leading and instructing childcare students – at least 1 year * Strong English verbal and written communication skills * Ability to adapt plans to specific classrooms * Flexibility and critical-thinking skills * Excellent interpersonal skills Schedule * Day Shift: 5–8 hours per day, Monday to Friday * After-School Shift: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday Location 14 Hope Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11211 Salary Salary: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Position Overview L’Alliance New York’s Montclair Campus is seeking enthusiastic teachers to teach French to children, teens, and adults. Classes for younger learners include both French as a foreign language and programs designed for native speakers. Teachers are responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons, bringing patience, creativity, and care to the classroom. The Montclair Campus offers language programs for toddlers (ages 1–5), children (5–11), teens (11–18), and adults, from beginner to advanced levels, with dedicated pathways for native French-speaking children.
