Job Description Premier Research Labs (PRL), a leader in the field of natural, high-quality Dietary Supplements, is growing! To facilitate this growth, we are expanding our warehouse team and are looking for an experienced Receiving Lead. PRL receives and warehouses raw materials and packaging components from sources around the world. This is a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) facility that is regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Receiving Lead is the first rung in Warehouse Management and acts as a working supervisor responsible for the accurate, efficient, and compliant execution of all inbound logistics, material receipt, and material quality inspection processes. This role provides daily leadership, training, and coordination for the Receiving team, ensuring materials meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, are precisely counted and recorded, and are staged for production in a timely manner. The Receiving Lead is the primary point of contact for resolving complex receiving discrepancies and ensuring the team upholds PRL’s Core Values, driving compliance and excellence in the initial stages of our supply chain.Key Responsibilities • Provide daily work assignments and guidance to Receiving Associates, ensuring all tasks (unloading, counting, sampling, staging) are completed efficiently and meet scheduled timelines. The Lead will be responsible for performing warehouse functions as well as leadership functions., • Serve as the department's subject matter expert, training new and existing associates on SOPs, safety, material handling, and GMP receiving and sampling protocols., • Monitor inbound freight schedules, manage dock traffic, and coordinate with carriers, Purchasing, and Production to optimize the flow of materials into the warehouse., • Act as the first escalation point for the team, identifying and resolving complex receiving issues such as vendor discrepancies, freight damages, or unexpected material holds., • Ensure the team performs precise sampling of raw materials according to approved SOPs, verifying proper documentation, and maintaining sample chain of custody for Quality Control (QC)., • Oversee the accurate and timely logging of all receipts in the ERP/WMS system, ensuring all physical counts, lot/batch numbers, and statuses (Quarantine, Released, Rejected) are correctly recorded according to GMP data integrity standards., • Conduct routine checks of the receiving area and documentation to ensure continuous GMP and audit readiness., • Enforce strict segregation protocols for approved, quarantined, and rejected materials to prevent mix-ups and cross-contamination., • Personally oversee or perform initial inspections of shipments, verifying materials against Purchase Orders (POs) and confirming the integrity of packaging and seals., • Lead and perform cycle counts within the receiving and quarantine areas to maintain high inventory accuracy., • Ensure the team strictly adheres to all safety regulations, operates material handling equipment safely, and maintains a clean, organized, and secure dock and receiving area., • Satisfy the cycle count requirement by performing a minimum of 5 cycle counts of raw material or packaging component SKUs per day. Core Competencies/Qualifications, • High School Diploma or GED required., • Minimum 2+ years of experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a related role within a manufacturing environment., • Minimum 1+ year of demonstrated lead or supervisory experience (e.g., training, directing workflow, or shift leadership)., • Experience with daily cycle counts of raw materials and/or packaging by SKUs, • Proven experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or highly regulated (Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, or Food) environment is highly desirable., • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and strong computer literacy., • Experience with raw material sampling procedures in a sanitary environment is a significant advantage., • Excellent leadership, training, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team., • Strong organizational, analytical, and advanced problem-solving skills., • Forklift experience required.
