Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Technician – Equipment Cleaner Job Description The Production Technician – Equipment Cleaner plays a critical role in supporting commercial and clinical biologics manufacturing by cleaning, sanitizing, assembling, and reassembling stainless steel production equipment. This position operates industrial washers, Clean Out of Place (COP) stations, and autoclaves, prepares cleaning solutions, and documents all work in compliance with cGMP and site procedures. The role is hands-on, mechanically oriented, and performed primarily in a controlled cleanroom environment on a 12-hour night shift schedule. Responsibilities • Clean and sanitize primary, secondary, and ancillary stainless steel production equipment, including components ranging from pressure gauges to large tanks up to 600 liters., • Operate industrial washers and Clean Out of Place (COP) stations to ensure equipment meets cleanliness and sterility standards., • Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble manufacturing tanks, vessels, and line assemblies to support biologics production., • Prepare and formulate cleaning solutions according to established procedures and safety guidelines., • Perform visual inspections of equipment and components to verify cleanliness, integrity, and readiness for use., • Operate autoclaves to sterilize equipment and materials in accordance with cGMP and site SOPs., • Kit, stage, and organize materials and equipment needed for production activities., • Maintain production suites, supplies, equipment, logbooks, and data in alignment with site SOPs and policies., • Accurately document all activities, cleaning steps, and equipment status to meet cGMP and regulatory requirements., • Participate in shift exchanges and attend 1:1 meetings and team meetings to support communication and area needs., • Practice and promote safe work habits and strictly follow safety procedures, including correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)., • Follow cleanroom gowning and de-gowning procedures to protect product integrity and maintain a controlled environment.Essential Skills, • Demonstrated ability to clean, sanitize, assemble, and reassemble mechanical or production equipment., • Mechanical aptitude to safely take equipment apart and correctly put it back together., • Experience working in a cGMP environment or aseptic manufacturing setting strongly preferred., • Cleanroom or ISO environment experience preferred., • Basic computer skills for documentation, data entry, and following electronic procedures., • Understanding of aseptic techniques and aseptic processing practices., • Ability to follow detailed SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory requirements., • Strong attention to detail for visual inspection, documentation accuracy, and equipment handling., • Reliability, punctuality, and initiative to learn and grow within a production environment., • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Prior experience as an equipment cleaner, production worker, or general laborer in a regulated environment is beneficial., • ISO environment experience is a plus., • Additional mechanical aptitude or hands-on technical experience is advantageous., • Comfort working in a cleanroom with strict gowning and personal care requirements., • Strong work ethic with a desire to develop skills and advance within the organization.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is primarily based in a controlled cleanroom environment, where you will follow strict gowning procedures to protect product quality. The cleanroom requires adherence to specific personal care guidelines, including no beards, false eyelashes, hair extensions, nail polish, artificial nails, lotion, perfume, or other items that could compromise the product. You will work with stainless steel production equipment, industrial washers, COP stations, autoclaves, and computer systems for documentation. The position follows 12-hour night shifts from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule, with initial training on a day shift for 5–6 weeks (approximately 6:00–8:00 a.m. start). The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, proper use of PPE, and strict compliance with cGMP and site SOPs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.15/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
