Job Description Job Summary: The Reception/Attendance Secretary serves as a welcoming face and steady support while managing student attendance records and accurate daily attendance tracking. This secretary serves as one of the first points of contact for students, staff, families, and visitors. The secretary plays a vital role in fostering a culture of trust, respect, and care within the school community while maintaining a welcoming organized environment. Building administration determines the receptionist/attendance secretary start and end dates each school year, a tentative schedule is provided. On days when school has been cancelled, secretaries do not report to work. These days will be made up and could affect the tentative end date. Hours: 8 per day (202 days per year) (August 4th 2026 tentative start date) Pay: $14.46 per hour Reports to: Building Administration Requirements Include but Not Limited To: • Greet and assist students, parents, staff and visitors in a professional manner, • Answer phones,take messages, and direct calls appropriately and professionally, • Monitor daily student attendance, • Communicate with the district truancy officer, • Ensure compliance with all attendance and programmatic reporting requirements, • Calls to Parents/Guardians, Voicemails/Messages, • Mail attendance letters/Add Cumulative files, • Prepare necessary state reports, • Work with administration to support school operations, • Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and other applicable privacy regulations, • Completed required district trainings, • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Administrative writing, keyboarding and phone skills, • Record keeping and technology skills, • Microsoft/Google skills, • Professionalism, • Confidentiality, • Organization, • Online platform navigation, • Strong verbal communications, • Promptness and low absenteeism is essential to this position Benefits: This position includes a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that includes IPERS, paid personal/sick leave and medical/dental/vision insurance Physical Requirements: Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking.
