About the Role: While many of our 1-on-1 tutoring students prefer to work virtually, this job posting is exclusively for applicants who are interested in tutoring in-person at our Winnetka office. Please note that this is not a full-time position, and it will not be a good fit for those seeking full-time work; while average hours per week vary drastically from instructor to instructor, most of our instructors average around 8-12 instructional hours per week. At this juncture, we are looking for new tutors/teachers to add to our team for at least the duration of the 2025-26 school year. About our Content Quiz: Please note that--due to the nature of this tutor/instructor position--all candidates will need to complete a content quiz that includes verbal and math questions prior to being considered for an interview. This (untimed) quiz should take approximately 30-45 mins to complete. About our Training: We believe strongly in our robust training, which for this role includes approximately 33 hours of combined synchronous and asynchronous work. This (paid) training module (which we call our 1-on-1 Gateway Training) typically takes place over the course of 2-3 weeks. All synchronous sessions are conducted virtually. A Successful Academic Approach Tutor & School Programs Teacher: • Prioritizes their students, leading with curiosity, compassion, and enthusiasm for their success., • Maintains a growth mindset, incorporating the instructional best practices from extensive training and coaching to lead their students to success., • Deliver engaging specialized academic and test-prep instruction to high school (and some middle school) students across the Chicagoland area., • Build relationships in a supportive and professional manner., • Maintain an accurate calendar in Microsoft Outlook., • Respond to administrators, students, and parents in a timely manner., • Demonstrate good judgement and professionalism in both remote and in-person settings., • A bachelor's degree in any subject or major., • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and educational equity., • Passion for supporting student success., • Ability to demonstrate academic expertise in English, math, reading, and science., • All of our Tutors/Teachers must teach all subjects on the ACT., • Access to a computer with a webcam, mic, and a reliable internet connection (with at least 100 mbps download and 100 mbps upload speed) for virtual instruction., • Competitive pay, starting at $30/hr for 1-on-1 tutoring and $47/hr for classroom teaching with potential for increases bi-annually based on performance.
