Owen Reed is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support the family office in coordinating legal matters specifically with regards to one region. This role is primarily based in London, UK. The role demands a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, a strong educational background (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent), and the ability to work effectively with family stakeholders and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and excellent communication abilities. Job Summary: The Paralegal to the family office will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal administrative support in relation to all matters pertaining to the Indian subcontinent. The Paralegal will support the UK legal team as well as lawyers, firms and interested parties in the Indian subcontinent in delivering high-quality services primarily related to litigation and dispute resolution. The Paralegal will be required to work across several legal fields including litigation, dispute resolution, finance, investment, corporate and contract law. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. They will be goal-oriented with timelines, focussed on results and responsible for holding their selves and others accountable for results on behalf of the principal. We are looking for someone with a high degree of common sense, diligence, a passion for hard work, a strong command of the English language and the ability to follow up and follow through. Key Responsibilities: • Act as the point of contact for all legal service providers in relation to any and all matters relating to the Indian subcontinent. • Coordinate between legal and other service providers in the UK and India as well as the principals and related parties. • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support lawyers and the principal. • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents., • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all documents are accurate, upto-date, and securely stored., • Communicate with lawyers, clients, beneficiaries, and other parties to obtain information and updates related to legal matters. • File documents with courts and administrative agencies as needed., • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars and handling correspondence. • Assist external lawyers and law firms., • Maintain confidentiality of all client and family office information. Key Skills: 1. Diligence. Ensuring all matters they have responsibility for are delivered to the highest possible standard. The paralegal is expected to exhibit this diligence for any and all matters that the paralegal has exposure to., 2. Pro-active. The paralegal will be expected to manage their own workload and reporting and as such should be pro-active in following up on and following through with workstreams as well as providing regular and detailed reports., 3. Communication. Working with various team members across different cultures and time-zones, the ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language as well as being an excellent communicator unphased by different communication and linguistic styles. Qualifications: • Minimum Bachelor’s degree ., • Educational Qualification in Law (eg. LBA, LLM, LPC, GDL)., • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong organizational and time-management skills., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)., • Proficient in using Apple devices (iPhone, MacBook and iPad)), • High attention to detail and accuracy., • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures., • Understanding of the strategic and business implications of legal matters.
