This role will play a critical part in shaping our commercial strategy, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across complex capital programmes. In this role you will: • Provide strategic commercial leadership across Soben’s EMEA consultancy operations, ensuring best-in-class commercial management and governance., • Act as a senior client-facing leader, building trusted relationships with key clients and stakeholders across major programmes., • Oversee the commercial performance of projects, ensuring profitability, risk management, and contractual compliance., • Lead and support Project Directors, Project Managers, and commercial teams in delivering high-quality outcomes aligned to client expectations and Soben standards., • Guide commercial strategy from pre-contract through delivery, including bid support, fee proposals, and contract negotiation., • Champion consistency in the application of Soben systems, processes, and QA standards across all projects., • Provide leadership on commercial risk, dispute avoidance, and resolution strategies., • Support the development of new business and repeat work through strong client relationships and market insight., • Mentor and develop senior and emerging talent, building a strong and sustainable commercial leadership pipeline., • Work closely with UK and EMEA leadership to support business planning, growth strategy, and operational improvement initiatives., • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability., • Uphold and champion Soben’s core values and leadership principles in all aspects of the role. About you • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline., • Extensive post-qualification experience in commercial leadership roles within construction consultancy or major capital project environments., • Proven experience operating at Director level, with accountability for commercial performance across multiple projects or portfolios., • Strong client-facing credentials, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build long-term, trusted relationships., • Deep understanding of commercial, contractual, and risk management principles across complex projects., • A strategic thinker with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset and the confidence to make and stand by decisions., • An effective leader and mentor, capable of developing high-performing teams and future leaders., • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing business and client needs.
