Health & Safety Consultant Location: Flexible / Hybrid (ideally within reach of Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Milton Keynes) Salary: Up to £60,000 + benefits Sector: Construction An established and growing consultancy is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Consultant to support the delivery of health, safety and compliance services across a diverse portfolio of construction projects across retail, healthcare, commercial and education. The role offers a flexible hybrid working approach, allowing consultants to manage their own diary between site visits, home working and occasional office attendance. The Role As a Health & Safety Consultant, you will support the delivery of CDM and health & safety services across multiple projects, working closely with clients, contractors and design teams to ensure projects are compliant and operating to high safety standards. Key responsibilities include: Undertaking site inspections and health & safety audits Producing clear reports and practical recommendations Reviewing Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, PCI documentation and H&S Files Reviewing design risk assessments and supporting the principles of prevention Monitoring contractor compliance with CDM 2015 and UK H&S legislation Attending project meetings and providing practical H&S advice Supporting the preparation of H&S documentation and compliance reports Assisting with design risk management across projects Reviewing fire safety documentation and Regulation 38 information Contributing to client H&S policies, procedures and compliance frameworks About You 4–6 years’ experience in construction health & safety or CDM advisory Experience undertaking site inspections, audits and reporting Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and UK H&S legislation Experience reviewing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans or H&S documentation Comfortable attending meetings with contractors, designers and clients NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate TechIOSH membership (or working towards) CSCS card Full UK driving licence Desirable APS membership (Associate level) Fire Risk Assessment training (e.g. Level 3 FRA) Experience supporting Principal Designer / CDM duties Additional training such as SMSTS, SSSTS or Temporary Works What’s on Offer Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience 27 days annual leave plus public holidays Death in Service – 4x salary Pension – 6% employer contribution (after 3 months) Vitality Private Healthcare after probation Hybrid working between home, office and site Investment in training, CPD and career development To apply, please submit your CV or contact us directly for a confidential discussion
