A Senior Quantity surveyor is required to join the team of a reputable civil engineering contractor in the North of Scotland. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the cost management and contractual aspects of projects, providing expertise and guidance to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires an experienced QS with strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include: • Develop accurate budgets and cost plans., • Monitor spending, manage variances, and identify savings., • Prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and resolving disputes., • Lead tender processes and supplier selection., • Negotiate favourable terms and build strong stakeholder relationships., • Enforce cost control measures and produce regular reports., • Analyse performance and recommend improvements., • Identify and mitigate project risks., • Guide teams in proactive risk management., • Mentor junior staff and promote collaboration., • Lead with professionalism and integrity. What Are We Looking For? RSE is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join us on a permanent basis, assisting in the delivery of projects across Scotland. You will undertake Control, Instrumentation and Electrical works including installation, testing, commissioning, and fault finding within new and existing MCCs, industrial instrumentation, analysers, motors, actuators and all other equipment used in the automated control systems associated with RSE products and those used by clients in Water, Chemical Dosing and Petro-chem industries. Please note this position will require flexibility on working location, with accommodation provided by RSE. Some of Your Key Duties Include: Provide a flexible approach to resourcing all commissioning requirements of various projects To support the project team by developing commissioning plans, site commissioning files, methodologies, programmes, method statements and risk assessments Monitor standards to ensure specification compliance and quality standards are strictly maintained Attend FAT activities and provide constructive input with regards to system controls Carry out commissioning of LV Electrical systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems including MCCs and associated field equipment Read and interpret electrical drawings, line diagrams and P&IDs Complete SAT and Asset Start-up Complete commissioning documentation Participate in HAZCOMM activities for various projects as required What Do You Need? Electrical/Instrumentation HND/HNC or equivalent Proven Instrumentation & Electrical experience full commissioning phase experience (installation, dry, wet, process testing) Previous experience holding SAP or AP position and of PTW systems Experience of iMCCs including VSDs, Softstarts and Flow, Level, Pressure and Temperature instrumentation Experience in executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for clean and wastewater projects on both new build and retrofit sites Experience in FAT, SAT testing and fault finding Experience in telemetry end to end testing Profibus, Installation and Commissioning Certification Flexibility for location of work and out of hours working as required by the Company Full UK Driving Licence.
