The Role As a Segment Lead for Education Business Unit, you will, lead high‑performing teams at the intersection of business growth, talent, and transformation, while influencing senior stakeholders across the UK, own and drive a strategic growth agenda, with accountability for revenue, client relationships, and long‑term market positioning, and partner with UK universities to modernise digital campuses, enhance student and faculty experience, and deliver mission‑critical programmes with lasting impact. This is a Segment Head position within the Education Business Unit for the UKI and MEA geography. The role delivers tangible impact across customers, people, and the business and is central to advancing TCS’s partnership with the UK higher‑education ecosystem. Key responsibilities: • Own and manage the P&L for a defined segment within the Education Business Unit in the UK., • Lead and develop a high‑performing sales team to drive business growth, open new accounts, and deepen relationships with new and existing stakeholders through proactive demand creation., • Generate new leads, position TCS as a preferred supplier, respond to RFPs, and close new deals., • Define and execute competitive strategies for assigned accounts and segments., • Accountable for Total Contract Value (TCV) growth, new‑logo revenue, margins, and overall client satisfaction., • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, industry thought leaders, and influencers to drive sustainable business growth. Your Profile Essential skills/knowledge/experience: • Proven experience in direct sales within a services‑based organisation., • Demonstrated track record of winning deals, growing TCV, and delivering sustained revenue growth., • Strong experience generating new leads and creating demand within new accounts and clients., • Ability to align TCS offerings and solutions to client needs, influence decision‑making, and shape complex deals., • Broad understanding of multiple TCS service practices, including EAS, CBO, Cloud, and related offerings., • Strong ability to meet proposal timelines and client deadlines., • Experience building trusted relationships at C‑suite level, resulting in high client satisfaction., • Excellent client communication, presentation, and logical reasoning skills., • Strong collaborative mindset with experience working within diverse teams., • Prior experience working within the UK geography, with mandatory experience as a Client Partner., • Proven senior leadership experience in IT services, consulting, or large‑scale technology‑led transformation, including strong experience in a segment, account, or P&L leadership role., • Strong exposure to the Education or Higher Education sector, ideally working with universities or public institutions in the UK or comparable markets., • Sound understanding of academic, administrative, and research ecosystems. Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: • Direct experience working with UK higher‑education institutions, universities, or education‑focused public‑sector bodies., • Familiarity with sector challenges, including funding pressures, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation., • Experience leading in international markets, particularly the UK or Europe, with cultural awareness and regional market insight., • Consulting‑led transformation experience, including strategy development, operating model redesign, and large‑scale transformation roadmaps., • Exposure to education‑specific platforms and solutions such as student information systems, ERP for higher education, learning platforms, research administration systems, or digital campus solutions.
