The Role The Accident & Health team has been growing year on year, and we are seeing exciting opportunities internationally, through the rapidly expanding Howden network and external partners. The Account Executive role is crucial in assisting our account management and broking team with duties including client relationship management and the handling of client and underwriter queries, administrative support and policy production, co-ordinating broking functions with internal teams and insurers, processing renewals as well as the management of third-party binding authorities including bordereau submissions and processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and global reaching environment, collaborating with various brokers and team members. What you’ll do • Manage client renewals, predominantly on a wholesale basis to gather renewal information in good time to enable terms to be obtained and firm orders placed., • Respond to underwriter, client and third-party queries as appropriate to maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction., • Co-ordinate and manage the risk and premium processing requirements on various binders., • Preparation of policy documentation and slips in accordance with client and market needs, in an accurate and timely manner., • Utilise market systems and resources such as the Lloyd’s Wording Repository, Crystal+ and PPL when preparing policy documentation and subsequently binding contracts of (re)insurance., • Stay up to date with territory, tax, and legislation requirements to ensure compliance., • Manage the onboarding of new clients on Howden internal systems and complete the necessary due diligence requirements, whilst following internal guidelines., • Support the development of client presentations for both new and existing clients., • Maintain accurate and concise placing files, using corporate document management system., • Support the management team with any new projects and broking services on an ad-hoc basis., • Seek opportunities to grow the book of business and expand our market presence., • Liaise with technical teams to assist the delivery and processing of insurance placements including compliance checks., • Collaborate with support technicians and IBA as required to manage premium and deliver high-level service. Who we’re looking for • Experience in a similar or related role within the insurance market., • Strong relationships with relevant underwriters and market contacts., • Knowledge of specific products and relevant regulatory/legal frameworks., • Customer focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service., • Strong and effective communication skills to establish a connection with clients and all relevant parties., • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills., • Proficient in computer applications and software related to the role., • Excellent ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment., • Calm and resilient under pressure, maintaining a positive mentality., • Proactive and adaptable to change, embracing new opportunities for growth., • Someone who collaborates and is skilled at fostering long-term professional connections., • Minimum 8 GCSEs (or equivalent), • 3 A-levels (or equivalent), • Working towards or has attained Cert CII (although not critical)., • Attainment of the LLMIT (the Lloyd's and London Market Introductory Test) where relevant.
