Conflicts & New Business Associate Manager Location: London (Hybrid) The Opportunity Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Conflicts & New Business professional with proven team leadership capability to join their London office. This is a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced, high-performing environment, where you will oversee day-to-day operations while remaining actively involved in complex conflicts, AML, and new business intake matters. You’ll play a key role in ensuring service excellence, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving team performance across UK and EU operations. The Role Reporting to the Director of Conflicts, AML & Compliance (Europe & Middle East), you will: • Lead and develop a team of Conflicts & AML Analysts and an Administrator, • Manage workflow and priorities, ensuring timely delivery of conflicts clearance, AML checks, and matter opening, • Act as a key escalation point for operational issues and complex queries, • Maintain a hands-on approach, supporting high-risk or time-sensitive matters, • Build strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders, confidently advising on policy and process Team Leadership & Operations • Set clear objectives and manage daily/weekly team performance, • Allocate and prioritise workloads in a deadline-driven environment, • Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to team members, • Monitor quality, consistency, and compliance with firm policies, • Conduct performance reviews and support development of direct reports, • Oversee and conduct conflicts searches and analysis, • Advise on conflict risks and coordinate approvals/waivers, • Ensure accurate and compliant new business intake processes, • Liaise with partners to gather and validate matter information, • Oversee client due diligence and AML risk assessments, • Review documentation and ensure regulatory compliance, • Act as a trusted advisor to partners and business services teams, • Clearly communicate policies and manage expectations Experience • Proven experience in Conflicts, AML, or New Business Intake within a law firm or professional services environment, • Demonstrated team leadership or supervisory experience (essential), • Strong operational background in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting, • Strong leadership and people management capability, • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, • Sound judgement and decision-making ability, • Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders, • High attention to detail and commitment to quality, • Join a globally recognised law firm with a collaborative culture, • Take on a visible leadership role with real impact, • Work in a hybrid environment with flexibility, • Be part of a team that values professional development and progression
