Job Description Job Title: IT Systems Administrator Department: Information Technology Reports to: IT Operations Manager Status: Full-Time, Exempt Work Location: Fully Onsite | The Smith Center for the Performing Arts Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 Summary of Duties and Responsibilities The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, performance, and security of the organization’s networks and systems infrastructure that support business operations. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, this role contributes to the development and enforcement of IT policies and standards, and collaborates closely with all departments to deliver reliable, responsive end-user support and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade servers (physical and virtual) computers, servers, switches, storage and communications., • Develop, review, and implement back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans., • Regular testing of back-up and disaster recovery procedures., • Apply security patches, updates, and vulnerability remediation., • Maintain system documentation and IT policies., • Serve as Tier II support, mentor and assist the IT Support Specialist, ensuring problem resolution of business users' issues with a high level of customer service and satisfaction in a timely manner., • Balances security and process controls with business benefits to create an effective business and operating model keeping current with industry standards and global technology developments., • Actively manages IT systems and projects including Cisco Gear, VMWare, Server environment, Cambium Networks, Manage Engine, and is lead with any consultants on any advanced system support., • Assist with development, implementation, and enforcement of all IT policies and procedures to the standards that are required by management., • Oversee IT operations to develop performance reports of all systems and recommends methods to increase and maintain performance., • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent experience., • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive IT experience, • Professional certifications in one or more relevant technologies preferred, such as VMware V.C.P., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA: A+, Network+, Security+ etc., • Exceptional experience in project and time management methodologies., • Demonstrated technical proficiency and working knowledge in several of the following areas:, • Windows Server environments; 2012r2, 2016, 2019, 2022, • Enterprise Wireless Technologies, • SharePoint, • Email Security, • VMware virtualization, • Configuring Storage Technologies SAN/NAS, • Advanced Active Directory Management, • Microsoft Exchange/Office 365, • Helpdesk ticketing solutions., • Strong understanding of information technology systems, processes, and governance frameworks, including security, scalability, and business continuity practices. To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have: • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders., • Exceptional critical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills., • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment., • Self-motivated and proactive, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve departmental and organizational goals., • Demonstrated professionalism consistent with a service-focused IT environment, including:, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, • Data-driven decision-making and analytical mindset, • Sound professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information, • Ability to interpret, analyze and learn new technologies., • Capability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines., • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term, trust-based work relationships across all departments., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server environments (2012r2, 2016, 2019, 2022 ) and Active Directory administration., • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and related productivity and collaboration tools., • Experience with Azure Entra ID and other cloud technologies., • Experience with VMware or comparable virtualization technologies, including configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting., • Familiarity with data storage technologies (SAN/NAS), backup and recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning., • Knowledge of information security systems, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity frameworks., • Ability to leverage IT management tools and ticketing systems for monitoring, asset management, and workflow tracking. Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits if required by federal, state, and local regulations during the course of employment. The base annual salary range for this full-time and exempt position is $65,000- $70,000 plus benefits, including insurance plans as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and scope of responsibilities. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by key factors such as work experience, skills, abilities, and job-related education and training.
