If this sounds like a job you’d love, apply now! • Location: Jericho, NY, • Job Type: Full-time, • Benefits include health insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan, and PTO., • This is an in-office position. Compensation: $65,000 Responsibilities: • Ordering medical and billing records and electronically filing in state and federal courts, • Work with attorneys and paralegals to draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and edit documents when needed, • Coordinate travel and vendors for team meetings and depositions, • Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals, and have an understanding of medical terminology, • Utilize daily time records to properly process client billing, with assistance from the accounting department, • Handle all aspects of pre-litigation cases from intake up to (but not including) settlement negotiations/commencement of lawsuit, • Prepare and file O.C.A. Opening Statement, • Request Police Accident Report, • Prepare Notice of Representation letters, • Conduct a thorough case intake, • Initiate claim process with insurance carrier(s) and communicate with adjusters, • Assist clients with property damage, • Draft letters and e-mails, • Maintain regular communications with the client about treatment and recovery status, • Communication with doctor's offices Qualifications: • Must have experience in use of legal software, case management, and docketing programs, • An Associate’s degree or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required, • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment, • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a personal injury law firm or office environment as an administrative assistant or secretary, • Strong interpersonal communication skills, • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills, • Personal injury case manager or similar relevant experience: 1+ years (Preferred) About Company Friedman & Simon LLP Injury Lawyers has been representing seriously and catastrophically injured accident victims since 1991.
