Job Description Position Summary CakeBoxx Technologies is looking for a high-performing, experienced Business Development Director to expand the company’s secure modular cargo and transport solutions (innovative containers, transport platforms, and services) across U.S. and global aerospace and defense logistics programs. The Business Development Manager will identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in defense logistics, aerospace, and supply chain solutions supporting the U.S. Department of War (DoW) including DLA, USTRANSCOM, SDDC, TACOM and associated MILDEP logistics organizations, as well as leading aerospace, defense, and commercial suppliers and manufacturers. This role works closely with internal sales, marketing, engineering, and program teams, as well as manufacturing partners, to win contracts and deliver practical, mission‐ready solutions. Candidates should have experience and be comfortable working with DoW (formerly DoD) logistics stakeholders, program managers, and both aerospace and defense commercial industry (Defense and Maritime Industrial Base – DIB / MIB) leaders. A solid understanding of federal procurement, funding sources, and decision cycles is highly desirable combined with the ability to develop and support bid proposals, manage pipeline development and strategic sales activities. The role requires strong proposal development and writing skills, experience managing and coordinating multiple stakeholders and the ability to understand market trends, develop, execute and lead strategic marketing and sales activities aligned with aerospace and defense modernization efforts, addressing mobility, sustainment, and global transport and supply chain resilience and readiness. This position also requires a strong, self-starting professional capable of building and maturing a structured pipeline of opportunities across the supply chain, transportation and logistics sub-verticals of the aerospace and defense sectors. The ideal candidate will have excellent personal communication skills, strong writing ability, and a solid technical understanding of use cases and value propositions aligned with industry-standard business development and capture practices. The Business Development Director will lead a small team supporting domestic and international growth and will be responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with key aerospace and defense clients to deliver CakeBoxx solutions that support mission readiness. Responsibilities • Identify, qualify, and manage new business opportunities within U.S. and global aerospace and defense logistics programs focusing on sustainment, efficiency, readiness, and life-cycle logistics programs, • Lead the full business development process from initial customer engagement through requirement shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and contract award by working with senior DoD and prime contractor stakeholders to advance CakeBoxx’s modular transport and secure mobility solutions for air, land, and maritime logistics, • Grow CakeBoxx’s solutions in sustainment, readiness, and life-cycle support markets, • Drive pipeline growth and apply proven BD and capture strategies, maintaining accurate opportunity data and activity tracking in CRM system (Hubspot), • Provide accurate sales forecasts and deliver results that meet or exceed revenue goals, • Lead and mentor a team of business developers focused on selling CakeBoxx’s solutions for the aerospace and defense logistics market, • Develop and maintain strong, forward-looking relationships with DoW program managers, contracting officers, logistics commands, and aerospace and defense industry partners, • Lead quote and proposal development, coordinating with engineering, operations, finance, and product teams to deliver compliant, compelling, and mission‐aligned supply chain and transportation solutions, • Monitor defense and aerospace market trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activity to inform strategic planning and growth initiatives, • Minimum of 8–12 years of business development and operational experience in defense logistics operations, supply chain, or aerospace business, • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, logistics, supply chain, or related field, • Program Management experience - PMP certification a definite plus, • Established customer network within DLA, TRANSCOM, MILDEPs and/or major aerospace and defense prime contractors, • Professional experience working with tier 1 Defense Industrial Base companies such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, or BAE Systems a plus, • Strong proposal writing experience and ability to manage complex proposal processes, • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and the federal procurement process, • Familiarity with DoD program structures, logistics contracts, and acquisition models, • Understanding of how defense systems (air, land, sea, missile, or space) support logistics and sustainment, • Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written and representational experience at tradeshow and industry exhibitions and forums, • U.S. citizenship required · Proficient with CRM tools (HubSpot, GovWin) · Ability to identify, analyze, and pursue new business opportunities across defense and aerospace markets · Experience leading, developing, and executing comprehensive business development strategies for defense programs · Skilled in managing the full business development life cycle, from identifying and qualifying leads to developing opportunities, proposals, and securing contract awards · Demonstrated success in coordinating technical, pricing, and program inputs for proposal development · Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills · Multi-tasker with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment · Strong understanding of defense acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS compliance, and life-cycle logistics programs · Proven track record of winning contracts through successful proposal execution · Experienced with common operations and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management tools, CRM systems) Benefits: § Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance § 401K with company match § Paid Time Off § Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance § Tuition reimbursement, PMP and other professional development opportunities § Revenue and performance-based incentives How to Apply: Interested candidates should send their resume, cover letter, with at least two (2) references to the Mr. Rico Millarez at attention to Emilie Eisold, General Manager.
