We are currently seeking a highly experienced Busser to join ourfriendly, fun, positive work environment. We are looking for open availability to work Lunch shifts, as well as possible Brunch coverage during the weekends. The start date for this position is October 8th. Our Bussers are relied on to work together as a team to provide memorable, thoughtful experiences by engaging with ourguests, serving/clearing food with a smile, and anticipating the needs of each guestwho visits us. Our Bussers are highly experienced, must see that the highest quality standards are met for guest service, and must also work within the framework of a quality food and beverage service team. General duties and responsibilities: * Actively practice exceptional hospitality and following Jakes hospitality SOP. * Embody and practice the company purpose and the four core qualities (elevated hospitality, fun dinning, consistency and attention to the details!) * Be a creative problem solver-do whats needed to make the guest happy. * Attending all scheduled staff meetings and supplemental training sessions, being attentive and taking notes when appropriate. * Arrive to work on time and consistently follow shift schedule. * Be familiar with and follow all safety protocol including emergency, covid, health department/food safety, and alcohol awareness. * Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes harmony with guests, co-workers, and management. * Perform additional duties as requested by management. Specific duties and responsibilities: * Make sure the dining room is clean and set-up. * Guests are offered official water service and bread for each table (see SOP for more details). * Offer parmesan cheese, pepper mill, and any other condiments if requested by the guest (see SOP for proper service & procedures). * Being able to make all coffees and teas and other non-alcoholic beverages when needed. * Bussing of tables. * Picking up plates and glasses. * Polishing silverware and glasses. * Organize linens. * Restocking & refilling busser stations and other storage areas. * Restroom checks and reports to janitorial staff any restroom needs or issues. * Help with the physically challenged & service dogs (bring water, walker, cane, etc.). * Folding napkins / setting linens. * Clean all busboys and servers areas, stations (bread stations, sodas/coffees/teas stations, etc.). * Jakes customer service SOP knowledge and compliance. * Work always under the FDA health department rules and procedures. * Cooperate and work in harmony with both FOH and BOH staff. * No overly intrusive service with guests. * Positive attitude, willing to work, remaining busy. * Table updates, uses iPad to update status of tables. * New employee training. * Workshops + meetings mandatory attendance. * Packing and bringing customers leftovers. * Always carry a tray, cart, or bussing cart. (see SOP for proper handling procedures). * Check your section by making sure that is in perfect condition before the guests arrive. Double check table settings, table alignment and any patio debris fallen on tables and chairs. * Make sure the candles are on at the appropriate hour. * No table has uncoordinated or non-matching settings. * H-vac, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning familiarity. * Umbrellas familiarity and handling. * Lighting and illumination settings for all service times. * Catering service knowledge. * Accommodating guests requests and concerns when necessary. * Greet guests with a smile and thank them for coming upon exit. * Cleaning up spills on tables and floors. * Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming as needed. * Knowledgeable about all menus and hours of operation. * Be familiar with emergency safety measures. * No cell phones or personal calls except in emergencies. No smoking during service. No gum chewing at any time. * Perform additional duties as requested by your manager. * Follow the steps of service as outlined for your position. * Complete opening/closing duties. See SOP for opening and closing procedures. Dress codes: * All facial hair must be groomed * All attire must, black dress pants, black socks, black belt, black button-down shirts with collar. Apron will be provided * Nonslip black shoes must be worn * Long hair must be worn back and away from falling forward * Normal piercings no tongue rings or nose rings/eyebrows * Seasonal uniforms will be rolled-out when appropriate. Day and night uniforms will be required depending on scheduled shift. Education and experience: * At least two years related experience preferred. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as e-mail communication, instant message communications, legal documents, license agreements, contracts, invoices, news articles, technical manuals, budgets, ledgers, purchase orders, financial, marketing, inventory, shipping, and various reports. Ability to effectively present information, provide instructions and thoroughly answer questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English. Reasoning ability and other skills: Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in manuals or from management. Setting up and breaking down machinery or mechanisms for dining areas and ambiance set-up.
