Job Description We are currently seeking resumes from qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, energetic professionals for an Environmental Specialist/Project Controller position in our Phoenix, Arizona office. Job Description: This role will work closely with the Environmental Practice Leader, Regional Managers, and Project Managers in our Environmental Practice. The role will be responsible for providing enhanced oversight of the planning, execution, and financial control (scope, schedule, and budget) of environmental projects throughout our Environmental Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, financial analysis, environmental standards, environmental project development processes, and sustainability practices. Duties: • Budget Management:, • Develop, monitor, and update project budgets., • Analyze costs and expenses to identify efficiency improvements and ensure financial targets are met., • Project Planning and Scheduling:, • Develop detailed project development plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation., • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks., • Performance Tracking:, • Work with Environmental Practice Leader, Regional Managers and Project Managers to establish metrics for monitoring project performance., • Regularly analyze project data to provide insights and forecasts on project outcomes., • Data Collection and Analysis:, • Oversee or conduct field investigations to collect environmental data (e.g., noise, water, flora/fauna), analyze the findings, and interpret complex data to assess environmental impacts, • Reporting and Documentation:, • Prepare detailed and comprehensive technical reports, compliance documentation, and presentations for stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and senior management., • Risk Management:, • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies., • Work with the project team to address and resolve issues promptly., • Stakeholder Collaboration:, • Maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including team members, management, and external partners throughout the project life cycle., • Environmental Compliance and Quality Assurance:, • Ensure projects adhere to applicable environmental regulations and standards., • Maintain documentation of compliance activities., • Support Continuous Improvement:, • Contribute to the development of processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery., • Provide guidance and training to staff and contractors on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices. Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field, • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project control or management, preferably in environmental projects, • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices, • Strong organizations skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, • Ability to work independently and within a team, • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), • Knowledge of the Deltek tool set or equivalent, • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Project Manager (CPM) is a plus, • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines, • Occasional travel may be required for site visits and project meetings Competencies (To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies): • Communicative – interacts openly with others; can maintain relationships, works well independently or with a team., • Consultative - Consults with other disciplines as needed; tolerates different perspectives or opinions., • Decisive & Action Oriented - Has a high level of energy and stamina; gets things done; makes sound educated but rapid decisions even when short of information; enjoys managing challenging projects and works well in fast-paced and pressure environments. Working Conditions and Environment: This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment.
