This expansion requires adding a driven sales professional who can build relationships, open new accounts, and drive significant revenue growth The Role We're hiring a Territory Sales Representative to develop new business relationships with electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, and industrial facility managers across NC, SC, TN, and VA. This is a true outside sales role focused on: • Prospecting and qualifying new accounts, • Conducting face-to-face meetings with decision-makers, • Understanding customer needs and presenting solutions, • Building long-term partnerships that drive recurring revenue You'll target three key customer segments: • Electrical contractors (service departments, operations managers, procurement), • Mechanical contractors (HVAC companies needing electrical components), • Industrial/Manufacturing facilities (plant maintenance managers, facilities engineers, electrical maintenance teams) Success means: Opening 30-40 new accounts in your first year and generating $400,000-$500,000 in new revenue, positioning us for continued aggressive growth. What You'll Do Prospecting & Account Development (60%) • Research and identify target companies using tools like Apollo.io and ZoomInfo, • Build lists of decision-makers (service managers, procurement managers, facilities managers), • Execute multi-channel outreach: phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, direct mail, • Qualify opportunities and schedule face-to-face meetings, • Conduct facility visits and needs assessments with prospects, • Gather customer requirements and relay to customer service team for quoting, • Present pricing and product solutions prepared by customer service, • Navigate longer sales cycles (60-90 days) to close new accounts Relationship Management (25%) • Maintain regular contact with new and existing accounts, • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within accounts, • Attend industry events, trade shows, and association meetings, • Represent Brilliant at networking functions and community events, • Partner with customer service team to ensure seamless customer experience Sales Operations (15%) • Document all activity in CRM (calls, meetings, proposals, opportunities), • Coordinate with customer service team on quotes and product sourcing, • Provide weekly pipeline updates and forecasts to leadership, • Collaborate with inside sales, operations, and logistics teams, • Track competitor activity and market intelligence What Makes You Successful Must-Haves • Self-starter mentality: You manage your own territory, time, and results without constant supervision, • Relationship builder: You're naturally good with people and can build trust quickly, • Resilient: You can handle rejection, stay motivated, and keep pushing forward, • Hunter mentality: You get energized by prospecting and opening new accounts (not just servicing existing ones), • Organized: You can juggle multiple prospects, follow-ups, and priorities simultaneously, • Coachable: You're willing to learn our process and apply feedback, • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for company vehicle), • Must pass drug screening and background check Nice-to-Haves • Experience in outside sales, account development, or business development, • Background in electrical/construction industry (contractor, electrician, project manager), • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools, • Understanding of electrical products, HVAC systems, or industrial maintenance, • Existing relationships in the electrical/construction community Backgrounds That Translate Well We've seen success from people with experience in: • Route sales (Sysco, US Foods, beverage distribution), • Construction/trades (electricians, project managers, foremen), • Outside sales (copier sales, industrial distribution, building materials), • Hospitality/restaurant management (high-energy relationship builders), • Military veterans (disciplined, mission-focused, adaptable) Bottom line: If you're competitive, personable, and driven to earn based on performance, we want to talk to you.
