Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cut Off Operator to join our plastics manufacturing team in South Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will operate cut off saws, trim presses, and related equipment to cut plastic pipe, profiles, tubes, and extrusions to precise customer specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining high production quality, adhering to safety standards, and meeting daily output targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Set up, operate, and monitor cut off saws, rotary blade cutters, or trim presses used on plastic extrusions, pipe, tubing, and profiles., • Read and interpret work orders, cut sheets, and blueprints to ensure parts are cut to correct lengths and tolerances., • Measure finished parts using calipers, tape measures, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy against specifications., • Adjust machine settings (blade speed, feed rate, cut length) to maintain product quality and minimize waste., • Perform routine machine maintenance including blade changes, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting., • Inspect finished parts for burrs, cracks, warping, discoloration, or other defects and remove non-conforming product., • Stack, bundle, label, and stage finished product according to work order and packaging instructions., • Maintain an accurate production count and complete required paperwork, production logs, and quality records., • Keep the work area clean and organized; follow 5S standards and housekeeping requirements., • Communicate proactively with the lead or supervisor regarding material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns., • Follow all safety procedures including proper use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toed boots)., • Assist with other production duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Required • High school diploma or GED., • Minimum 6 months of experience operating cut off saws, band saws, or similar cutting machinery in a manufacturing setting., • Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand tools and measuring instruments., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, quality work., • Ability to stand for an entire shift (8–12 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs regularly., • Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to work overtime when required., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Preferred • Prior experience in plastics extrusion, injection molding, or pipe/profile manufacturing., • Familiarity with plastic materials such as PVC, HDPE, CPVC, ABS, or polypropylene., • Experience using digital calipers, micrometers, or other precision measuring tools., • Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks and material-handling equipment., • Basic understanding of quality systems such as ISO or IATF standards. Work Environment & Physical Demands This position is performed in an active manufacturing plant environment. Employees may be exposed to moderate to high noise levels, plastic dust, and varying temperatures. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequent bending and reaching, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. Required PPE is provided by the company.
