Job Description Mission Waséyabek Development Company, LLC (WDC) is a legal entity, created and wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), a federally recognized Indian Tribe. Position Summary The Vice President of Information Technology is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for the comprehensive strategy, management, and execution of all IT functions. This position will oversee IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, application support, data management, and digital innovation across all subsidiaries. As the organizational leader for IT, the VP will play a vital role in enabling the organization to achieve its business goals through technological transformation, risk management, and operational excellence. The VP of IT will collaborate closely with other leaders to develop, implement, and maintain technology initiatives that enhance operational efficiencies and security while supporting sustainable growth. Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following: • Lead the development and execution of a short and long-term IT strategy that aligns with the company’s mission, goals, and changing business needs., • Establish, maintain, and communicate organization-wide IT policies and governance frameworks and implement best practices that guide IT decision-making, risk management, and performance standards across all subsidiaries., • Oversee the IT budget, balancing cost-effectiveness with the strategic investment in technologies that add value and drive operational efficiency., • Manage and develop a high-performing IT team by providing mentorship, growth opportunities, and a structured career development framework., • Ensure seamless planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including network architecture, cloud services, data centers, and telecommunications systems, to support reliable operations and scalability., • Implement monitoring tools to track infrastructure performance, ensuring uptime, efficient resource utilization, and quick resolution of service issues., • Develop and regularly test robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including backup solutions, to mitigate disruptions and safeguard critical business data. Work with business leaders to integrate IT continuity strategies with enterprise-wide plans., • Oversee the administration of essential applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, communication platforms) to ensure optimal functionality, security, and user support., • Develop a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that addresses emerging threats, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Lead implementation efforts, focusing on threat detection, incident response, and continuous improvement of security protocols., • Establish a Security Operations Center (SOC) to manage, respond to, and resolve cybersecurity risk, incidents and breaches., • Ensure compliance with regulations such as NIST, HIPAA, and PCI by coordinating audits, both internal and external, and implementing recommendations to improve security and compliance posture., • Implement data governance policies to maintain data accuracy, availability, and security across the organization., • Stay abreast of technology trends and emerging technologies such as AI and identify innovations that could create competitive advantages, improve operational efficiencies, or enhance customer experience., • Provide expertise in IT due diligence and manage the integration planning for newly acquired entities, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to company standards., • Serve as a key technology expert and partner to internal departments and portfolio leaders, understanding their unique needs and providing strategic technology support and solutions as needed., • Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent., • Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader. Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Applicants must possess any education, training, or demonstrated work history and/or experience necessary to perform all essential duties and responsibilities associated with the position. Education, training and experience indicative of an individual’s ability to perform all essential job duties and responsibilities include the following: • Bachelor’s Degree in Networking, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical or business field; a Master’s Degree or MBA is preferred., • A minimum of (10) years of work experience in IT leadership roles, with a track record of developing and implementing enterprise-level IT strategies., • Prior experience or exposure to Federal requirements for IT in areas of NIST compliance, cybersecurity, supporting of secret, and Top secret contract execution within the Department of Defense and Department of Energy., • Advanced knowledge in Windows, Mac OS, and server operating system environments., • Prior experience with cloud infrastructure configurations., • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word., • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and manage new systems related to information technology., • Prior experience driving complex, cross-functional projects to completion., • Proven track record building trusted stakeholder relationships across department and career level and maintaining relationships in a team-oriented, collaborative environment., • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in high stress situations., • Proven track record building trusted stakeholder relationships at all career levels and maintaining relationships in a team-oriented environment., • Ability to pass a pre-employment and background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in a Private Equity, portfolio management, and government contracting organizations., • Prior experience or understanding of the unique legal status of Indian tribal governments, culture and Tribal government-owned business enterprises., • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or PMP., • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance., • Extensive experience with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and requirements such as NIST, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI, and DFARS., • Proven experience in managing incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
