Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 DOE Life Care Center of Aurora is looking for an Admissions Assistant, this is a full-time hourly position. This individual reports directly to the Admissions Director. This individual will support the Admissions Director with patient intakes and provide administrative support to the department. This individual supports the organization by answering hospital calls, perspective family phone calls, providing tours to perspective resident, tracking incoming referrals from hospitals at a high-pace, calling insurance to verify eligibility and benefits, providing appropriate documentation in a timely manner, collaborating with other departments to ensure proper information is being reported, will be in constant communication with hospital liaisons, complete admission and discharge audits, scanning, and keeping patient health records organized/complete. We are looking for someone that has the following: • Eagerness to learn as well as a willingness to be trained in fundamentals of software and database essentials as necessary, • Positive attitude and willingness to work with others, • Proficient in Microsoft & Excel, • Ability to organize and prioritize work, • Good phone etiquette, • Self-starter and willingness to take initiative The Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) facilitates and supports the admission process in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. • High school graduate or equivalent, • Prior healthcare experience preferred, • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility, • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department, • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation, • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc., • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information, • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures, • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training, • Gather and enter all necessary admission paperwork, • Provide assistance for patient and family at time of admission, • Assist with follow up visits and interviews with all new patients after admission, • Assist or solely provide facility tours to potential and newly admitted patients, families, and any visitors, • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, • Assist in the evacuation of patients, • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance, • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment, • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team, • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
