Job Description Job Function and Scope This position serves as an operator within the machine shop, responsible for operating CNC equipment, assisting team members, and acting as a technical resource. The role also supports the supervisor by handling responsibilities in their absence and plays a key role in continuous improvement and training initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operate Makino MMC (pallet pool) including loading/unloading fixtures, cleaning parts, performing quality checks, and material handling to keep CNCs operational., • Maintain and manage machine cutting tools: sharpen, replace, repair, and track working inventory., • Identify and troubleshoot machine/tooling issues, work with Supervisor, Tool Room, Maintenance, or Engineering for resolution., • Serve as technical lead for operators within the department., • Assist in training new operators., • Act as backup to the Supervisor and manage key tasks during their absence., • Partner with Engineering on new parts development and continuous improvement projects., • Move materials within the plant and accurately document movement in SAP. Education and Experience: Required: • High school diploma or GED, • Technical certification in machine shop operations, • Experience with Makino equipment and tooling, • Experience with continuous operations (24/7 environments), • Familiarity with SAP, • MMC (pallet pool) experience, • Journeyman machinist certification, • Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, • Must communicate clearly in English (spoken and written) with co-workers, supervisors, skilled trades, and engineering, • Competence in basic math, including decimals and fractions, • Must accurately read and interpret measuring devices including micrometers, • Ability to use judgment to set up machines per standard methods and procedures, • Stand for full 8-hour shift (with 1 short break and 1 lunch break), • Excellent vision, hand dexterity, and eye-hand coordination required, • Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently, • New Employee Orientation, • Legal Compliance Training, • Work is performed in a manufacturing facility with wide temperature variation, • Required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, hand protection, • Regular exposure to machine coolant, oils, lubricants, cleaners, and compressed air, • High noise levels requiring hearing protectionCompany DescriptionLabor Solutions, LLC is a leader in the professional, temporary, and direct hire industry throughout the Midwest area.
