This is an opportunity to use your operational expertise to develop the next generation of skilled professionals across water distribution, leakage, treatment, and utilities infrastructure. We are looking for someone with strong practical experience who is passionate about sharing knowledge, supporting learners, and raising industry standards. Whether you already have training experience or are new to teaching, full support will be provided to gain recognised training and assessment qualifications. The Role: You will design and deliver engaging, high quality training programmes to apprentices, technicians, and industry professionals across a range of water sector disciplines. Your focus will be on translating real world operational experience into practical learning that improves performance, safety, and competence. You will work closely with employers and learners to ensure training is relevant, impactful, and aligned to industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Deliver structured training across water distribution networks, leakage detection and control, water treatment processes, and mains laying and repair activities Design learning materials that are practical, engaging, and aligned to qualification requirements Assess learner competence both in training environments and within the workplace Provide constructive feedback and coaching to support learner development Maintain quality standards through collaboration with internal quality assurance teams Build strong relationships with employers and stakeholders across the utilities sector Monitor and continuously improve training content to reflect industry developments and best practice Who We Are Looking For: We welcome applicants with hands on experience in one or more of the following areas: • Water distribution networks, • Leakage detection, reduction, and repair, • Water treatment operations, • Utilities mains laying and infrastructure repair, • Network maintenance and operational field work You will also demonstrate: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Confidence working with people at different experience levels, • Organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities, • A commitment to high quality training and safety standards, • A collaborative and supportive approach to learning Qualifications and Requirements Essential: • Relevant water industry experience, • Good literacy and numeracy skills, • Full UK driving licence, • Understanding of health and safety practices Desirable but not essential: • Training or teaching qualification, • Assessor qualification such as TAQA, A1, or equivalent, • Experience delivering apprenticeships or vocational qualifications Full support will be provided to gain qualifications if required.
