About the job This role is responsible for the management of Control change and process updates within the NR & SWR Control functions. The role will work under the Allianced Control Continuous Improvemement team and carry out work for both organisations. As the Transformation programme finishes the role will continue to own the business continuity for the documents and process that underpin the implemented operating model. The role will work with the Continuous Improvement team so as to ensure the operating model documents and processes are updated when improvement activity takes place. It will also continue to look at areas not within the original transformation project, such as SWR Fleet Control processes. Your main responsibilities will be: • Own continuously updating the SWR / NR Control Operating Model documentation, e.g. RACI and storybook., • Work with the SWR Train Service Delivery team to own and implement the SWR Control Manual., • Implement and keep updated a joint SWR / NR Control Train Service Delivery Manual., • Work jointly with the Control Continuous Improvement Team SMEs to identify potential improvements within the operating model and methods of working, to include the operating model processes., • Work jointly within the Control Continuous Improvement team to manage the improvement change activities, ensuring they are built into the standard operating model and documentation changed accordingly., • Work collaboratively with the Control teams to identify improvement activities within the way of working of the operating model., • Participate in Control Viz to ensure we learn from incidents and implement improvements and action plans to improve where appropriate., • Maintain effective relationships with the Network Rail local management teams and those on shift involved in assisting SWR with service recovery., • Regulary review incidents to ensure that we communicate with our stakeholders effectively and that processes are followed to ensure compliance. Where required, identify improvements that can be made within the operating processes, • Interface with NR / DXC on the operations and deliverables of the WICC Hub. Covering transition from project ot BAU activity., • Ensure alignment of Control processes and documentation to maintain current standards and they are kept upto date., • Interface or lead on Control impacted projects to improve standards or performance and being innovated and industry leading on our thoughts., • Must have worked within a Control area, performance or operations environment., • Must be a confident and strong communicator., • Experience of working in teams in a complex, dynamic and time driven environment., • Ability to make decisions whilst working under pressure, following procedures and plans., • Proven ability in management teams with varied terms and conditions and differing levels of experience., • Proven ability in developing teams through robust performance management., • Knowledge of the SWR network., • Have a working understanding and knowledge of safety critical rules, standards & regulations., • Knowledge of the operating implications of the different traction types used by SWR., • Understand the various methods of disseminating information both internally and externally., • Have proven record in the ability to analyse results and provide recommendations., • Proven ability in cross functional collaboration in order to develop and implement improvement plans. You will work an average of 37 hours per week across 5 days, typically; Monday to Friday, office hours.
