Learn more: ___ Learn more: The Opportunity JD.com is seeking a highly motivated Trade Compliance Specialist to support the movement of goods into and out of the UK and EU markets. Based in London, this role will ensure compliance with customs regulations, accurate product classification under the Harmonized System (HS), and smooth coordination with customs brokers and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of UK and EU trade compliance requirements to ensure regulatory adherence and efficient customs operations. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and issue timely, accurate customs clearance instructions for import and export shipments., • Verify shipment documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin) for compliance with UK and EU customs regulations., • Serve as the primary contact for customs brokers, reviewing entries for accuracy of HS codes, valuation, origin, and use of special programs (e.g., duty reliefs, free trade agreements)., • Lead HS classification of all products and maintain a classification database for customs filings and internal reference., • Monitor customs compliance, support internal audits, and maintain records required by UK and EU authorities., • Track and report duty spend, clearance performance, and broker KPIs., • Respond to regulatory inspections and daily compliance inquiries., • Manage customs permits, Excise/Consumption duties, and refund/claims processes., • Oversee packaging, plastic, and environmental obligations (e.g., CBAM, EPR, PPT, EUDR)., • Collaborate with internal teams (Merchandise, Commercial Operations, Logistics, Tax, Finance) to ensure smooth customs operations., • Evaluate and implement third-party tools to improve customs process efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Finance, Logistics Management, or a related field., • Minimum 3 years of experience in customs/trade compliance, preferably in an international e-commerce environment., • Strong knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations and HS classification., • Experience liaising with government regulatory bodies (HMRC, EU customs authorities)., • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel., • Detail-oriented, proactive, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is a strong plus.
