Network & Infrastructure Engineer (Permanent, Greater Manchester) Reporting to: Group Head of IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security This role is approximately 80% hands-on network engineering (design, optimisation, troubleshooting, documentation) and 20% general infrastructure support (Microsoft 365, servers, virtualisation, monitoring). If your strengths lie primarily in networking, you'll be in your element here. What You Will Be Doing This role exists toenhance theexistingstructure,further improvereliability, and accountabilitywithinthe network and infrastructure function. You willtake over a mixed environment covering Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquity, and Microsoft 365, with a simple mission create a well-documented, secure and consistent environment. You will: Audit and document network cabinets across multiple sites. Plan and lead the removal of unmanaged switches. Own the core network stack Fortinet firewalls, routing, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs. Manage and optimise our Microsoft 365 environment, including Intune and user access. Maintain Cloudflare DNS, PRTG monitoring, and assist with Windows Server. VMware, and Veeamas andwhenrequired. SupporttheVOIP system. Lean tosupportingourin-house, bespokeCRM. Take part inthe on-call rota (1 week on / 1 week off) andoccasionalweekend maintenance. What They Are Looking For Someone who is: Exceptionallyconfident in networking Fortinet, Cisco, VLANs, routing, firewalls. Competent with Microsoft 365 and how interacts with other applications. A clear communicator who can explain problems without hiding behind jargon. Willing to pick up a support call if needed and help the wider team, no ego. Naturally curious the type who digs into things until they are fixed properly.
