Job DescriptionJob Title: Packaging Technician Job Description This position is responsible for the proper assembly, labeling, and quality control of clinical supplies. The temporary packaging technician will follow all applicable standard operating procedures and supervisory instructions to ensure compliance with customer specifications. This role requires employees to perform most phases of clinical packaging, though supervision is needed in some areas. Responsibilities • Review batch paperwork and instructions to understand and perform packaging procedures required for assembling each clinical study., • Clean packaging rooms and machinery as needed in a clean room environment., • Independently perform manual and automated filling and packaging of bottled pharmaceutical products, approving labeling, and checking quality of the process., • Ensure proper labeling and drug placement using various sealing machinery., • Assemble clinical supplies, ensuring proper label placement., • Accurately count and prepare packages (pill bottles, syringe packs) to ensure proper packaging., • Perform final checks of work in-process and finished products, then pack goods into appropriately labeled containers or boxes., • Assist in staging and reconciliation of components.Essential Skills, • High School Diploma or GED., • Attention to detail, as mistakes on labels or packaging could have serious consequences., • Willingness and ability to work in a cold room environment for 10 hours a week, with all PPE provided., • Willingness to work mandatory overtime as needed., • Good handwriting for documentation purposes.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Manufacturing or production experience, or experience in a warehouse setting., • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is ideal., • Candidates from fast food or retail backgrounds may be considered if they demonstrate a strong interview performance and proven tenure in previous roles.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates within the pharmaceutical packaging department, a clean room environment requiring full gown, shoe covers, hairnet, beard net, and safety glasses at all times. The position involves working in a cold room environment (35-46 F), with appropriate cold weather PPE provided. All hours worked in the cold room will be paid a $2 premium. Employees work in shifts: 1st shift from 6:30 AM - 3:15 PM (M-F) and 2nd shift from 2:45 PM - 1:30 AM (M-Th), with mandatory overtime typically involving 5 extra days per month. The position involves internal contact with production operation employees, engineering, inventory, and quality assurance personnel, with limited external contact. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.25/hr.
