Job Description Job Description This entry-level role involves learning and performing tasks in a specific department with a focus on mastering duties on the Set-up level job description for that area. Operators will have the opportunity to advance to higher positions, such as Setup Operator, as they develop their skills. Responsibilities • Learn to operate various types of equipment and make minor adjustments during production runs to ensure quality parts., • Read setup sheets and routing packages for individual parts and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements., • Conduct quality inspections, • Move parts to the subsequent operation or identify them for scrap or rework, providing reasons for such actions., • Engage in team meetings to seek continuous improvements in operations., • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude., • Proficiency in shop math (fractions, decimals, metric)., • Ability to read and follow specific work instructions, • Ability to read blueprints (training available)., • Proficiency in using measuring instruments (tape measure, dial calipers)., • 2nd shift: 3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday - Friday, • Train on 1st shift for the first 1-2 months (5:00am - 3:30pm) The company offers onsite training and certifications, along with opportunities for advancement. As the business is expanding, employees can expect a pay increase upon converting to a permanent position. The warehouse is clean, and the work environment is organized with safety as a top priority. Work Environment The production environment spans 256,000 sq ft, is very clean, and not too loud. Safety is the number one concern. Shifts available are 1st (5:00am - 3:30pm) and 2nd (3:30pm - 2:00am), with the 2nd shift including a 10% pay differential. Training for the 2nd shift occurs on the 1st shift for approximately 2 months. Expect 50+ hours of work per week, including weekends. The facility is organized, and a strong emphasis is placed on safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
