We are seeking a Brand Copywriter to strengthen and maintain the CopperSmith voice across all consumer-facing materials. Position Overview The Brand Copywriter is responsible for writing, editing, and managing all written content that customers interact with. This includes product descriptions, website content, ads, emails, specification sheets, installation instructions, blog articles, social media copy, and other customer-facing materials. A significant portion of this role involves reviewing and editing outsourced vendor content, providing direction and training to external writers, and improving existing content based on a prioritized schedule focused heavily on product and customer-facing needs. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week in our Minneapolis office. Responsibilities • Maintain and develop the CopperSmith brand voice across all communication channels., • Write advertising copy for Meta, Google, Pinterest, YouTube, and display campaigns., • Create direct-response email campaigns, automated flows, and promotional messages., • Develop product descriptions, category pages, landing pages, and feature content for the website., • Produce specification sheets, installation instructions, and other technical documentation., • Review, edit, and manage content produced by outsourced vendors to ensure quality and brand consistency., • Provide feedback, direction, and training to external writers., • Audit, update, and improve existing content according to a priority schedule, with emphasis on product pages and forward-facing materials., • Write SEO-informed blog posts and long-form content., • Produce social media captions, scripts, and content that support brand storytelling., • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all public-facing written materials. Required Qualifications • 3–7+ years of professional copywriting experience with a focus on brand storytelling, advertising, and conversion-oriented copy., • Experience editing and managing outsourced writers or agency partners., • Portfolio demonstrating strong brand voice control and performance-driven work across ads, email, product content, and web copy., • Ability to translate technical product information into clear, customer-friendly content., • Experience producing or editing technical materials such as specification sheets and installation guides., • Working knowledge of direct response principles, CRO fundamentals, and SEO basics., • Strong editing, communication, and project management skills., • Ability to work onsite in Minneapolis two days per week. Ideal Educational Background • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Advertising, Creative Writing, or a related field., • Equivalent professional experience may substitute for a degree when supported by a strong portfolio and relevant work history. Ideal Prior Experience • Professional experience on a brand-side marketing team, creative/advertising agency, or within a high-growth e-commerce environment., • Demonstrated ability to write both brand-level storytelling and conversion-focused direct response copy., • Experience managing or collaborating with outsourced writers, contractors, or agencies, including editing, training, and quality control., • Experience producing or refining technical consumer materials (spec sheets, installation instructions, care guides)., • Portfolio showing strong examples of:, • Product and technical writing, • High-converting ad copy, • Email and lifecycle messaging, • Long-form/SEO content, • Brand voice development, • Familiarity with premium, customization-heavy, or technical consumer products is beneficial but not required. Success Indicators • Consistent application of the CopperSmith brand voice across all channels., • Improved advertising and email performance, including higher CTR, CVR, and ROAS., • Increased clarity and conversion on product pages and landing pages., • Higher-quality outsourced vendor content and reduced internal revisions., • Clearer technical documentation resulting in fewer customer questions and support requests., • Steady improvement of existing content following the defined priority roadmap.
