Job Description Aston Carter has partnered with a company in the Lenexa area and is seeking an Accountant with 2+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience. The role will be moving to the Crossroads area in a few months so would need to be open to working in that area as well. NetSuite experience is required. Candidates with backgrounds in financial services, CPA firms, or banking/financial transaction environments are strongly preferred. Job Description The Staff Accountant will support the Finance & Accounting team by performing essential accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records, and helping guide the team through ongoing growth and acquisitions. This role will oversee daily bookkeeping functions—including both receivables and payables—assist with monthly and annual close processes, and contribute to budgeting and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in strengthening controls, keeping bookkeeping staff on track, and supporting the department’s upward expansion. Over time, this role has the potential to specialize in accounts payable or accounts receivable and build a dedicated team around that function. Responsibilities • Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions (accounts payable and accounts receivable)., • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP., • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, resolving discrepancies quickly., • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, meeting all deadlines., • Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting., • Participate in audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation., • Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards., • 2+ years experience in full cycle accounting, • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required., • Strong knowledge of GAAP., • Accounting expertise, including general ledger, reconciliation, and journal entries. 100% employer paid benefits Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Lenexa,KS. About the Role We are seeking a Financial Analyst, Fulfillment & Operations Finance to join our Fulfillment and Distribution team in Gardner, KS. This role plays a critical part in driving operational and financial excellence across our fulfillment network. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance and supporting the VP of Operations, you will act as a trusted finance partner to operational and functional leaders, delivering insights that guide key business decisions in a high-volume, fast-moving environment. This position combines financial analysis, business partnership, and operational insight. You'll develop and maintain financial models, evaluate performance metrics, and help drive initiatives that improve cost efficiency, productivity, and employee performance across fulfillment and logistics operations. Key Responsibilities Business Finance Support • Lead and execute budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning processes across departments., • Use strong financial acumen to build models and analyses that inform decision-making and improve cost, efficiency, and throughput., • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and departmental leaders to align financial objectives with operational performance., • Proactively identify and implement process improvements that automate, standardize, or simplify financial and business tools., • Provide financial and operational recommendations to business leaders, challenging assumptions when necessary., • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across fulfillment and distribution operations, including labor utilization, cost per order, shipping efficiency, and capacity optimization., • Develop scenario and sensitivity models to assess the impact of business decisions, process changes, and network initiatives., • Support labor planning and workforce optimization as part of strategic initiatives across fulfillment operations., • Own financial reporting for assigned business areas, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency., • Identify and resolve complex data integrity issues, maintaining high standards of controllership., • Build strong partnerships across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and HR to ensure alignment between financial outcomes and operational goals., • Participate in production meetings, business reviews, and project planning sessions to connect financial insight with operational execution., • Serve as a subject-matter expert on financial processes supporting fulfillment operations., • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and performance measurement., • Support leadership through ad-hoc financial and operational analysis for high-impact decision-making. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related analytical field (MBA or CPA preferred)., • 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or operations finance-preferably within a fulfillment, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment., • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and deliver actionable insights., • Expert-level Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas)., • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools., • Working knowledge of ERP and financial systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.) preferred., • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment., • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams., • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership.
