Job Description In the Regional Clinical Manager role you will: • Conduct clinical skills preparation for newly arrived Shearwater Health nurses as needed and on an ongoing basis to ensure the required skills to perform assigned client facility role is achieved/maintained, • Develop an individualized development plan leveraging input from clinical skills preparation assessment, nurse development team input and SWH nurse. Oversee the follow-through and execution of the SWH nurse’s development plan which includes participation and progression through the career ladder program (STARS), • Coordinate with incoming nurses to schedule client specific facility orientation and education as directed by Shearwater Health and client facility., • Support the promotion of an environment that motivates, nurtures and empowers SWH nurses by working with assigned SWH nurses to facilitate the achievement and maintenance of nursing skills, education and performance goals, conducting quarterly 1:1 check-in with assigned nurses, and additional check-ins to address improvement/development opportunities as needed., • Collaborate and coordinate with clinical team, human resources, and other internal teams to schedule and implement nurse engagement activities to build a strong community such as Town Halls, intentional rounding, fun outings, holiday parties, etc. for assigned nurses., • Work collaboratively with Shearwater Health clinical and nurse development team to ensure growth and development of newly arrived nurses., • Coordinate with education department at client facility to arrange meeting space/SIM lab and equipment for clinical preparation., • Develop and ensure clinical competencies in internationally educated nurses ensuring nurses possess technical and professional practice skills to provide care safely and efficiently on a U.S. healthcare team., • Coordinate and facilitate monthly nurse manager check ins at assigned clients., • Analyze, track and trend client facility feedback, available patient experience and SWH engagement data to address opportunities for improvement and develop/implement action plans as needed., • Aid in remediation efforts for any nurse whose performance is noted to be below expectations., • Work collaboratively with client nurse managers and SWH HR team to address any clinical or behavioral issues and remediate as needed including performance improvement plans., • Conduct on-site meetings, cohort sessions, coaching and mentoring as needed., • Serve as a mentor and identify growth opportunities and educational needs., • Facilitate nurse candidate interviews for assigned clients., • Attend weekly deployment and risk review meetings., • Act as an ongoing clinical resource and primary relationship contact for assigned Shearwater Health nurses., • Stay current and facilitate compliance with applicable patient care standards, patient safety requirements, board of nursing and state/federal regulations To perform this job successfully, qualified candidates will have: • Unencumbered, active Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in any U.S. state, compact license preferred., • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), • Minimum 3-years of experience working as a U.S. RN, experience as an international nurse preferred, • Previous experience managing clinicians is preferred, • Experience mentoring junior nurses, providing clinical education, and/or precepting, • Strong leadership, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills, • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitor his/her own work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance, • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams of individuals with diverse skills and experience, including outside of traditional work hours; this requires often shifting priorities and initiatives quickly, • Ability to utilize multiple technology platforms for video conferencing, • Understanding of US nursing and the unique challenges faced by international nurses, • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, • Demonstrated strong clinical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, • Passion for lifelong learning and development with ability to effectively research, assess and utilize information (internal and external sources) to develop plan of action, make recommendations and/or decisions, • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within assigned region The Regional Clinical Manager is a full-time position reporting directly to the Director, Nursing Operations. This position is remote and will require travel to the corporate office in Nashville and clients in the assigned region in the US as directed.
