Want to know more? See more of what we do here. Granicus is looking for an engineering leader to drive internal AI transformation across the company. This leader will own the strategy, buildout, and adoption of a secure, scalable internal AI platform that enables employees across functions to safely use and create AI-powered workflows and agents embedded in core business processes. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Strategy & Transformation, this role will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Security, IT, Legal, RevOps, and functional business leaders, and partner closely with the Embedded Process Consulting team to translate AI capabilities into redesigned business processes and measurable operational outcomes. The successful candidate will combine strong technical depth, platform and systems thinking, and pragmatic change leadership to deliver measurable productivity gains, streamline operations, and help Granicus build a durable competitive advantage through internal AI. Lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of Granicus' internal AI transformation agenda in close partnership with the embedded process consulting team, ensuring alignment between platform capabilities and business process transformation priorities • Build and scale a centralized AI platform that enables employees to safely create, deploy, and use AI-powered workflows, copilots, and agents, in partnership with embedded consulting teams driving adoption within business processes, • Drive integration of AI capabilities into enterprise systems and systems of record, including CRM, support, knowledge, analytics, and business operations platforms, • Establish the technical and operating model for internal AI, including platform standards, governance, security controls, access models, observability, and lifecycle management, • Partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Engineering to ensure AI systems are deployed with appropriate guardrails, auditability, and enterprise-grade controls, • Identify and prioritize high-impact internal use cases that reduce manual work, improve cycle times, enhance decision-making, and increase employee productivity, • Define and implement standards for model access, prompt management, agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop workflows, and usage monitoring, • Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers focused on internal AI platforms, enablement, and transformation initiatives, • Create enablement programs, playbooks, and adoption mechanisms in collaboration with the embedded process consulting team that allow both technical and non-technical teams to effectively and responsibly use AI capabilities, • Measure + communicate impact to executives through clear KPIs such as adoption, efficiency gains, cycle-time reduction, and reduction of redundant workflows, • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership on company-wide transformation initiatives related to AI, automation, and operational scale, • 10+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, • 5+ years of experience leading engineering or platform teams, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing organizations, • Experience building internal platforms, developer platforms, workflow systems, or enterprise applications used by technical and non-technical users, • Strong technical understanding of modern AI systems, including large language models, retrieval-based systems, agent workflows, orchestration patterns, and AI platform architecture, • Demonstrated success designing and operating secure, scalable, production-grade systems with strong governance and observability requirements, • Experience integrating software platforms with enterprise systems and systems of record such as CRM, support, HR, ERP, identity, and data platforms, • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, • Experience establishing standards, processes, and controls for responsible technology adoption in enterprise environments, • Executive presence and strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts and business value clearly to senior leadership, • Familiarity with security, privacy, and governance considerations related to AI systems strongly preferred Security and Privacy Requirements • Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program., • Responsible for ensuring the data privacy of our employees and customers, their data, as well as taking all required privacy training in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies.
