Position Summary: The Front Desk / Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service in a professional healthcare environment. This role is responsible for accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and supporting efficient front office operations during morning hours. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced medical setting. Key Responsibilities: • Greet and check in patients in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner, • Perform patient registration and ensure all demographic, insurance, and consent documentation is complete and accurate, • Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-payments as applicable, • Accurately enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations, • Answer incoming calls, route messages, and assist with appointment scheduling inquiries, • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow, • Maintain a clean, organized, professional front desk and waiting area, • Assist with additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned, • Fluent in English. Bilingual abilities are strongly preferred, including Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Korean and Russian, • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred, • Prior experience in a medical office or patient registration role preferred, • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy, • Proficiency with computer systems and EMR software, • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards, • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, • Ability to lift-up to 20 pounds occasionally Equal Opportunity Employer Queens Surgical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to an inclusive workplace.
