About the Role We’re hiring a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT1) / Orthobiologics Laboratory TechnicianLaboratory Technician/Phlebotomist to join our close-knit team. You’ll work side-by-side with a highly respected physician, perform high-quality phlebotomy, process blood products for in-office procedures, and ensure the clinic runs with consistent, compliant lab operations. This is a growth-oriented role designed for someone who’s motivated, detail-obsessed, and energized by being part of a clinic that provides exceptional patient care. You will be trained on Regenexx SOPs and expected to master them. In This Role, You Will: • Perform all lab specific duties for Derrington Orthopedics, manage lab in a manner to minimize risks to the health and safety of employees and patients including OSHA, bloodborne pathogen, and infection-control standards, • Obtain and maintain acquired skills, knowledge, and qualifications required by Regenexx to carry out all duties and tasks, able to prepare all blood products for procedures performed within the Regenexx network, • Maintain an active California Certified Phlebotomy Technician license (CPT1), • Follow procedures to prevent introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases and contamination by microorganisms, • Review patient chart notes and prepare blood/marrow order forms for doctors to complete, • Analyze blood order and determine safe amount of blood product required, • Perform and/or ensure safe completion of all high volume blood draws on patients to include CLIA approved Hemoglobin analyzation, verify patient drug allergies and screen for recent health issues which could hinder treatment, • In sterile environment, process blood, marrow and/or adipose and prepare for injection, • Perform intricate nucleated cell isolation including counting and obtaining cell viability, • Ensure accurate documentation and protocols are completed per Regenexx SOP’s, • Complete Regenexx Patient Registry Processing Data (SalesForce) for all patients completing procedure, • Maintain safe operation, preventive maintenance, schedule annual calibration and re-certifications of all lab equipment and report to Regenexx Quality Assurance team, • Responsible for lab inventory and ordering of required Regenexx processing kits Work closely with Regenexx Quality Assurance team, ensure implementation and compliance of new Regenexx operating procedures, complete mandatory semi-annual lab compliance training, exams, and equipment sterilization monitoring, • Keep doctor and management informed of any potential health risks or lab hazards, • Travel to Laguna Hills on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays (mileage reimbursed) Success Looks Like (First 60-90 Days) • You complete Regenexx training requirements and perform core workflows confidently and consistently, • Registry and documentation are completed same-day with minimal corrections needed, • Inventory stays stocked and equipment logs stay current (no last-minute surprises), • Patients feel calm, informed, and well cared for during blood draws You’ll Thrive Here If You Are: • Calm under pressure and confident in a medical setting, • Personable, proactive, and naturally patient-focused, • Strong in communication, both written and verbal, • Comfortable working independently and anticipating next steps, • Detail-oriented and take pride in a clean, well-run environment, • Interested in orthopedics, sports medicine, or regenerative healthcare Preferred Qualifications • 1+ year of experience as a Laboratory Technician, • Phlebotomy certification/Active California License (CPT1), • Familiarity with EHR software and scheduling systems, • Orthopedics, sports medicine, spine, or procedural clinic experience, • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required due to two locations) Why Join Us • Be part of a mission-driven, supportive, and professional team, • Learn cutting-edge techniques in regenerative orthopedic care, • Opportunity to work in a high-touch, low-volume clinical setting, • Full-time position with Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, • 401(k) with employer match, • Paid time off + paid holidays Start Date ASAP – We’re ready when you are.
