Scope: Reporting to the Shipping Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily activities of the shipping operations team. This includes accountability for shipping/receiving, material handling, RMAs, inventory, training, process improvement, and employee safety. The Supervisor will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure operational goals, cost controls, and customer expectations are consistently met. A key focus of this role is on the growth and development of Leads and direct reports, ensuring they are equipped to perform at a high level while developing the skills necessary for future advancement. Duties & Responsibilities: • Partner with the Shipping Operations Manager to develop daily operational plans to maximize output and control cost, • Communicate effectively with staff through multiple formats (pre-shift meetings, one-on-one discussions, written updates) regarding workload, volume expectations, and other key information, • Monitor daily workload and align resources to demand, with emphasis on efficiency, accuracy, and cost containment, • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of customer specific requirements; ensuring each order adheres to these specifications, • Ensure proper documentation is completed and filed according to S2GO processes and controls, • Serve as a technical expert in departmental systems, including WMS, HJ, and Automation, • Manage labor standards and expense budgets while meeting production requirements, • Track, analyze, and communicate performance metrics to evaluate progress and identify areas for improvement, • Collaborate with the Shipping Operations Manager to evaluate process efficiencies and recommend improvements to workflow, procedures, and cost controls, • Coordinate daily work assignments with Leads and floor personnel, ensuring clear direction and alignment to priorities, • Develop, mentor, and coach Leads and direct reports by providing constructive feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities, • Build and maintain a training program to ensure employees are proficient in all shipping operations processes, • Promote a safe working environment by monitoring and enforcing safe warehouse practices, proper lifting techniques, housekeeping standards, and ergonomic awareness, • Motivate direct reports, foster accountability, and cultivate a positive, collaborative work environment, • Prepare and deliver yearly performance reviews for direct reports, incorporating clear expectations and development planning, • Ensure adherence to all SOPs, company policies, and training requirements., • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by manager Skills & Qualifications: • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required (AA/BA degree a plus)., • Demonstrated 2 to 4 years’ experience in Distribution/Warehouse management, including at least 2 years supervising 5-10 direct reports and a temporary agency workforce, • Proven leadership abilities, including motivating, coaching, and developing employees, • Experience in using performance reviews and performance management tools to increase skills of the team, • Ability to apply sound judgment in daily decision-making and execution of policies and procedures, • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking distribution environment, • Communicate, understand, and perform complex tasks with minimal supervision, • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to create professional documentation, including development plans and performance reviews, • Must be able to work flexible shifts/hours as business needs change, • Computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and WMS, • Ability to operate a forklift, previous experience a plus, • Must be fully available during the holiday period from October through December. This includes Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, the day and weekend after Thanksgiving, the first and second weekends of December and the first week of January The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer, contingent upon the successful completion of a background check conducted by our contracted third-party vendor.
