Job Description Job Title: Mix/Coat Manufacturing Operator Shift: 2pm-10:30pm or 10pm-6:30am M-F Pay: 26-35/hr based on experience Job Description The Coat Manufacturing Operator supports pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by assisting with production line setup, tear-down, and routine operation of commercial-scale equipment. This role follows current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and standard operating procedures, and requires accurate documentation in manufacturing records using Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). The operator contributes to mixing, coating, slitting, rotary converting, and packaging processes while maintaining compliance, safety, and product quality standards. Responsibilities • Assist with the setup, adjustment, and tear-down of commercial-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment for mixing, coating, slitting, rotary converting, and packaging processes., • Operate production line equipment in accordance with cGMPs and standard operating procedures, ensuring consistent and reliable performance., • Learn, retain, and apply key technical concepts for converting production lines, including web handling, tension control, gear ratios, splices, die stations, vision systems, and pick-and-place systems., • Learn, retain, and apply key technical concepts for mixing and coating production lines, including order of additions, solvation, emulsions, coat weights, percent solids, assay, and viscosity., • Monitor manufacturing processes during production runs and promptly report any deviations, abnormalities, or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel., • Perform roll changes, in-process inspections, and other routine production tasks to support continuous and efficient operation of the manufacturing line., • Support the manufacturing line lead by performing line setup, line tear-down, and applicable cleaning activities in accordance with procedures and cleanliness standards., • Conduct in-process inspections and verify that products meet defined visual and quality standards, including adherence to control charts and specification limits., • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) when completing manufacturing records, including Manufacturing Batch Records, setup diagrams, visual standards, summary sheets, logbooks, and related documentation., • Read, understand, and apply information from chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure safe handling and use of materials., • Maintain inventory accuracy for materials used in batching, mixing, coating, and packaging processes, and communicate material needs or discrepancies., • Apply blueprint and diagram reading skills to correctly configure equipment settings and follow production specifications., • Adhere to all safety, quality, and cleanliness requirements in a cleanroom environment, including proper gowning and contamination control practices., • Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production schedules, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives., • Perform labelling, blending, compounding, and related tasks as required to meet production and packaging requirements., • Comply with all applicable cGMP, SOP, and regulatory guidelines for pharmaceutical manufacturing, including documentation, equipment use, and cleaning procedures. Essential Skills • High school diploma or GED., • At least 1–3 years of experience working in a cGMP production environment, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology products, food and beverages, cosmetics, or dietary supplements manufacturing., • Strong ability to understand written and verbal instructions in the English language., • Strong ability to interpret manufacturing documents, including Manufacturing Batch Records (MBRs), setup diagrams (SUDs), visual standards, control charts, summary sheets, and logbooks., • Technical aptitude related to mixing, coating, slitting, rotary converting, and packaging processes., • Experience operating production and manufacturing equipment in an industrial or pharmaceutical environment., • Ability to follow and comply with cGMPs and standard operating procedures., • Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment with strict cleanliness and contamination control requirements., • Capability to read and understand chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for safe material handling., • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing in-process inspections and completing documentation., • Basic blueprint and diagram reading skills for equipment setup and operation., • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with production line operation, including roll changes and equipment adjustments. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Technical or associate degree in a relevant field is preferred., • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or closely related manufacturing industries., • Familiarity with blending, compounding, batching, and coating operations., • Knowledge of cleanroom practices and gowning procedures., • Experience with inventory handling and production material tracking., • Comfort using vision systems, pick-and-place systems, and other automated production technologies., • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production environment., • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
