Job Description Description: Temp to hire (6 months) Pay rate: $19/hr 1st Shift Position Summary The Assembler 3 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment Responsibilities • Use electric solder equipment to IPC-A-610B standard, • Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding, • Follow written and verbal instructions, • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision, • Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures, • Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing, • Minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment, as needed, • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 5S standards, • Maintain an acceptable safety record, • Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary, • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures, • Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required, • Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed, • Other responsibilities as assigned Physical Requirements • Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities, • Lift and Carry up to 35 lbs, • Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side, • Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf, • Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun, • Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands, • Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded, • Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling, • Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces, • Typing with computer and keyboard Qualifications • Good mechanical aptitude, • Able to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric soldering gun and light machinery; Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned, • Capable of performing basic mathematics, • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/ manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure, • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts, • Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks, • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills, • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed, • Able to perform complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operation, • Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures, • Skilled at simple welding tasks and/or brazing, or soldering, • Experience with MS Office Suite Education & Experience Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Certifications: N/A Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of prior related work experience in an electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment or completed OJT training for at least 10 products
