The Opportunity We are seeking a Full-Time College Admissions Consultant to guide students and families through the U.S. college admissions process, from early high-school planning to application submission and enrollment decisions. This role is ideal for someone who understands admissions strategy, student development, essay storytelling, activity positioning, and family communication. The consultant will work closely with students in grades 8–12 to help them identify strengths, build meaningful academic and extracurricular profiles, develop balanced college lists, prepare applications, and craft authentic personal narratives. Beyond admissions advising, the consultant will serve as a mentor and strategic thought partner, helping students develop ownership, reflection, initiative, and long-term planning skills. What You'll Do • Provide comprehensive college admissions counseling for high-school students and families., • Develop individualized admissions strategies based on each student's academic profile, interests, strengths, goals, personality, and family expectations., • Guide students in course selection, extracurricular planning, leadership development, competitions, research opportunities, summer programs, internships, and other enrichment experiences., • Support college list development, including reach, target, and likely schools., • Advise students on Common App, UC applications, supplemental essays, activity lists, resumes, portfolios, and interview preparation., • Help students develop authentic and compelling personal narratives across essays and application materials., • Meet regularly with students and families, providing accountability, coaching, and progress tracking., • Manage application timelines, deadlines, deliverables, and parent communication., • Lead workshops, webinars, or small-group advising sessions when needed., • Collaborate with colleagues to refine advising frameworks, share best practices, and improve the student experience., • Integrate Bravodium's AI-powered tools into advising workflows and student planning processes., • Create or improve advising resources, planning templates, workshops, and internal counseling materials., • Stay informed about admissions trends, policies, and changes across universities and educational pathways., • Model professional, inclusive, and culturally responsive communication., • Comply with safeguarding practices for working with minors, including privacy standards, approved communication channels, and Bravodium's Code of Conduct. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred., • Experience in college admissions counseling, educational consulting, school counseling, admissions, or a related field., • Strong understanding of U.S. college admissions, including Common App, UC admissions, private universities, liberal arts colleges, and major-based admissions., • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills., • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with students and families., • Coaching and mentoring abilities that help students develop confidence, self-awareness, planning skills, and accountability., • Ability to manage multiple students, deadlines, and application cycles simultaneously., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail., • Comfort using Zoom, Google Workspace, Notion, Canva, AI tools, and other technology platforms to enhance advising and operational efficiency., • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive advising. Preferred Qualifications • Former admissions officer experience., • Independent educational consulting experience., • Experience working with international or bilingual families., • Mandarin-English bilingual communication skills., • Experience supporting highly selective admissions, BS/MD applicants, engineering, business, arts portfolio applicants, pre-med pathways, or research-focused students., • Experience developing student enrichment, leadership, or personal growth programs beyond college admissions advising., • Student recruiting, enrollment, or family consultation experience. Role Logistics • Remote advising sessions, family consultations, and internal team meetings., • Some evening and weekend availability required during peak admissions seasons., • Background check may be required prior to working with students., • Student sessions may be recorded for enrolled families in accordance with Bravodium policies.
